Unfortunate news today for mobile gamers as the excellent Sonic and Sonic 2 ports which were developed by Christian Whitehead are set to be discontinued and delisted from platforms. This will be mean that they will no longer be available on both iOS and Android as SEGA has pulled support for the classic games.
That’s genuinely sad news since his ports of Sonic 1, 2 and CD are all hands down the best versions of those games.
No such thing as Sonic 1, and to be quite honest even the best Sonic game (2) isn’t even all that great to play. It’s just the best of a bad bunch of titles. Sonic has never had a great game, and his speed is the problem for that.

FINALLY someone else who understands that Sonic has been a mid-at-best franchise from the very beginning. Sonic has never had a game better than a 7/10, and that’s being generous.

Brother, people have been tirelessly pushing the idea that “Sonic was never good” since the mid 2000s. This is the coldest take since the Ice Age. If you think this is the first person to think this way, then damn dude, you’re just too slow on the uptake.
It’s not an “idea”, it’s objective fact. Sonic is a mediocre af franchise that should never have become as popular as it is, it should’ve died in the 90s like other mediocre mascots like Bubsy.
The fact that the franchise has gotten as big as it has proves that there are still far too many people who look at the franchise through rose-tinted glasses and are unable to grow up. So no, clearly it’s still not a well known fact.
But at least the Sonic franchise has been slowly dying these past few years, people are finally beginning to wake up. With any luck Sonic will be rightfully left behind in the dust in the coming decades.
Possible they don’t want to pay him and that the ports don’t profit enough or other contractual situations. He and Ohshima should pitch to Microsoft a new Blinx and maybe Banjo I think they’d go for it.
Why did you incorrectly call the game Sonic 1 in the title, but use its proper name, Sonic, in the article? There’s no “1” in the title, Sonic 1 doesn’t exist. Let’s stop doing this, we aren’t ignorant.
It’s “proper title” is Sonic the Hedgehog. Don’t be an ass when we all know what they’re talking about.

Obviously Sonic 1 is used as a reference to the first Sonic game, and you can’t just call it Sonic, as that could mean literally anything. Calling it Sonic 1 is a catchy way of informing people that it’s referring to the 1st Sonic title. Now give your bean head a rest 😂
