US gaming publication Nintendo Power has printed its readers most wanted games for the three Nintendo platforms. Unsurprisingly The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is top for Wii whilst Mario Kart 7 zooms to the top spot for the Nintendo 3DS. Do you agree with the readers choices?

Once I finish my Japanese lessons I’m importing a Japanese Wii along with Tales of Graces, Xenoblade, and Pandora’s Tower(I believe it’s out in Japan).

yes, but without major system-sellers like Wii Fit, the Wii admittingly wouldn’t have sold nearly as well, possibly keeping other great games like Galaxy and Skyword sword from ever being developed

I agree. The DS version was probably my favourite game of all time. I’ve put 100’s and 100’s of hours into that game, can’t wait until the 3DS one.
I’d replace Mario Party and Mario and Sonic for Dragon Quest X and Rune Factory. I’m good with 3Ds games.

I agree with everything except Rayman Origins and the entire DS list, except for maybe Super Fossil Fighters, which I never heard of, but it sounds like it could potentially be an awesome game.

Isn’t it obvious? Nintendo has their magazine make their games seem like they’re the best. Haven’t you ever wondered why most games by Nintendo get at least an eight/ten in NP, but lower everywhere else?
Thats not true, an nintendo mag called N gamer has rated nintendo games badly sometimes, they said they hate Mario party 8 and are not excited at all for 9.
They gave Zelda 3DS 93/100 recently, so they don’t make their games seem the best. It’s true some nintendo games are probably the best ones like Zelda and metroid.
Nintendo mags support nintendo primarily and talk nintendo and things, they give nintendo games very bad reviews at times. I’ve seen some of the reviews they did, Fortune street was strange about N gamer member going to the demo and then hated it then went to Skyward sword.
Probably either because he’s the most famous game character worldwide or his games almost always get great reviews would be my guess.
But games are not mainly about the protagonists. Its about the gameplay, the fun the plot, the enemies, the adventure, and also protagonists. People only buy mario games for the Protagonist in this case mario usually.
It’s also because of the gameplay and adventure. Mario games are all about that and very few games could top them in these areas.
But why are some of the best Nintendo franchises dying out?
Star fox is dying and also metroid as its sales are going right down.
Its not just them, F-zero looks dead and Earthbound is sure dead.
Hope Star fox 64 3DS is successful and REBOOT THE STARFOX SERIES NINTENDO!

Star Fox has BEEN dying out for quite some time, Metroid’s sales are obviously down because of Other M, which wasn’t as good as the Metroid Prime series. I’m pretty sure Mario sales went down with Sunshine, as it wasn’t considered as good as Super Mario 64 and many even considered that it wasn’t a Mario game at heart. F-Zero has been dead for quite some time but it may be revived on the Wii-U, as Nintendo has been reviving dead franchises for a while, while Earthbound…that’s just dead…period.

DS- Shin Megami Tensei Devil survivor 2 in the first spot, I’m sick of Lego harry Potter and well while Professor Layton is good, puzzle games are not my cup of tea.

I’m happy to see LAYTON take the top spot. I cannot wait for thst game. More so than MK7 and M3DL, but i’m also pumped for cave story 3D and Kid Icarus.

A lot of developers were disappointed with the lack of dual analogs, but by adding an accessory like this a year in, developers will have to choose between programming two control schemes, or limiting their games to one group of gamers.
If you program single analog only, you may have to compromise with your control scheme. If you program dual analog, you’ll be excluding gamers who bought the 3ds and don’t have this ugly accessory.
Nintendo have essentially created fragmentation on a single piece of hardware, and it could have been easily avoided if they’d had the foresight to include dual controls to begin with.
My prediction, Nintendo are going to release a 3DS Duo ASAP to compete with Vita. It will be a slap in the face for early adopters, who will be forced to buy this accessory or miss out on the ‘full experience’ on new games, but it’s the only way that they can get hardware parity with Vita.
I’m sure Nintendo know that here in East Asia we’ll play Monster Hunter on whatever platform has better controls… and that platform will sell millions
