Nintendo has revealed that you will be able to transfer your old Flipnote Studio animations on Nintendo DS to Flipnote Studio 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo has already announced that the Flipnote Studio community for Nintendo DSi on Hatena will go offline on May 31st. It is now recommending claiming and transferring your animations to the new Flipnote community. You can read more about how to perform this transfer, right here.
Could they be edited using the new tools?
i was hoping this feature should and shouldnt come because there is so much crap on hatena, people can just steal a flip (prior to the shut down) and post it in the clean and new flipnote 3d. Remeber all those star begging flips, all those copies of the exact same thing in the popular section for the thousanth time!? I just dont want a new begging to be poisoned. :/

They cant steal them. This transfer method works by logging in to your hatena account and transferring them. You are given a password which allows you to download editable versions of your flipnotes on Flipnote Studio 3D once its released. Meaning, only the people who uploaded the flipnote can edit it. Others will be able to view them in a read-only state.
So unless those with crap transfer and post everything, such worry should hopefully be minimal.

Flipnote Hatena was free, the new one will cost if you want to showcase your animations online.
It’s even more ridiculous being that the fee is per month.
Unless you’re popular. Then you don’t have to pay the fee.
Nintendo had to shut down the original server for Flipnote Studio due to maintenance costs (which is ridiculous considering how much money they have), but now that they have a fee for Flipnote Studio 3D, they can maintain the server years from now as long as people continue to pay.
You can also upload the 3DS flipnotes to Youtube with AVI export.
Only the world section. The friends section you can upload to all night long, the way I understand. (Basically, those in your friends list with Flipnote Studio 3D)

Oh goodness yes! One more reason to get a 3DS. Upgrade is coming soon I think. I am running out of reasons to not have one.
Those complaining flipnote 3D shall have monthly fees, my nintendo Padawans smile. The 3DS is a gaming machine. Play games like Luigi Mansion 2 and fire emblem awakening :).
