Nintendo has explained why the mischievous Nabbit is a playable character in New Super Luigi U. In an Iwata Asks interview , the downloadable content’s director, Masataka Takemoto, reveals that he was completely opposed to the idea of Mario making an appearance. To make sure Mario wasn’t featured in Luigi’s title, the developers were contemplating about adding a third Toad to the roster. But because having three Toads on screen may be confusing to players, they ultimately decided to make Nabbit playable . Read a portion of the Iwata Asks for New Super Luigi U below:
Iwata: Why did you choose Nabbit?
Takemoto: When we decided on Luigi as the main character, I talked with Tezuka-san about how I was absolutely against having Mario make an appearance.
Iwata: Not wanting to use Mario is something you simply don’t hear around the Entertainment Analysis & Development Department! (laughs)
Takemoto: Yeah! (laughs) The idea came up of using three Toads, but when three Toads show up, the screen gets confusing, so I hounded Tezuka-san about seizing this chance to use a new character.

To be honest I only see Daisy in parties, tennis, and kart racing….
She was in Super Mario Land
as a peach skin
What explains why they didn’t put in Daisy is because she was only brought back from her first appearance to add more different characters to spin-off titles. Same with Waluigi. They will likely never get a bigger role because Nintendo isn’t interested in them.
That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get any attention… I’d say they both have plenty of fans! ^-^
If nintendo cared about them so much they would put them in mario and luigi but there all new characters in that game. Daisy and waluigi are fill ins for spin off titles

I figure thats the answer I would get. WITH SOO MANY characters, there shouldnt even be a second toad.
I heard Nabbit is a good character for beginners. I think he isn’t damaged by enemies.
He takes no damage at all, but he can’t use power ups.
I would really like to see Nabbit appear in future titles. A pretty interesting character to say the least.

In my opinion, they never should have had even “2” Toads. Every character should have been completely different.
