Renegade Kid Would Like To Help Develop A 3DS Version Of Mighty No. 09

mighty_no._9

Jools Watsham, Co-founder & Director at Renegade Kid, has said on Twitter that he would personally like to help create a Nintendo 3DS version of Mighty No. 09. Watsham reached out to the official Mighty No.9 Twitter account to say that he would like to lend a hand. The Kickstarter based game is a classic Japanese side-scrolling action, evolved and transformed by Keiji Inafune, and an all-star team of veteran Mega Man developers.

“We’ll be happy to work with you to create a 3DS version of Mighty No. 9.”

Thanks, Emily Rogers

      1. are you serious? Your being ignorant to the truth of this game

        its not a rip-off

its a successor to megaman by megaman’s creator

        1. Are you blind? The truth is..

          It is a rip-off

Successor is now a term thrown around to justify blatant copying.

There is no doubt that these guys worked on Megaman, because it looks exactly the same.

          1. lol this guy doesn’t know that Mr. Inafune is the one who created Megaman.

Let me put it simple, he gave birth to Megaman.
He is the father of Megaman.
Megaman came out of his butthole.

Idiots today, trying to justify things without proper knowledge/info.

            1. I know…now try telling that to the Anonymous below saying “i’m getting so sick of Inafune, that just goes to show he didn’t even try to see if any studio would like to produce his game, he went straight to kickstarter because he wants monies”.

              Lets see how that flies.

              1. The sprite was designed. he made the art for the character and changed the sprite, and suggested he should change colors every time he gets a new power.

            2. Also, you do understand that just because Inafune refined Mega Man it doesnt belong to him. He was of course working for Capcom while doing so. Mega Man belongs to Capcom not Inafune and this is rip off if I ever seen one. #dealwithit

              1. youdealwithit…I can care less now. Plus why you mad about this? Is it because he’s now against capcom? No, surely that can’t be it. Maybe its because he’s using his arts like he did before and capcom now owns the copyrights but not his art style. I just goes to show you that no one can truly make an exact perfect duplicate of art style down to the every detail. All because your pissed off and ranting and raving over his simularities of crapcom and former crapcom employees who MADE mega man who he is today, doesn’t mean you can rant and rave on everyone else.

                #dealwithit

                1. If he said “Yes, this is a spin off of Mega Man, a character in which I had a great deal in developing, I hope you like it.” or something along those lines. I would have said “Great, I can’t wait to play it”

Instead he’s like “this is nothing like Mega Man, it is built from the ground up, so there. oh and btw fuck you Capcom.”

                  1. See? There it is…the cause of your anger…here is how I see it. We have no trailers of the game. Yet we see 4 to 6 pictures of him acting like mega man by running and shooting enemies. I saw more of what mighty can do and its not a thing mega man can follow and literally change into many other objects. I guess you missed those. Way I see it, let it form…if it turns out to be a REAL mega man rip off, then its up to crapcom…not me, not you not anyone else…because we are powerless to big corporates such as…so sit there and shut up, or rant and rave at the company who is letting them do this. I garantee your just one in few who are hating this.

          2. Not a rip off at all, capcom owns the rights to megaman, while the creator doesn’t… So in other words… Since capcom isn’t gonna make another megaman game… The creator of megaman decided to make one himself. Not a rip off if its coming from the person who made megaman to begin with.

Also those are screenshots and concept art he released, it probably won’t be in the final product.

    1. Really? There really is nothing special about them. I’ve played flash games better than Mutant Mudds. Please explain to me why there great(this is not sarcasm, I would legitimately like to know).

  1. i’m getting so sick of Inafune, that just goes to show he didn’t even try to see if any studio would like to produce his game, he went straight to kickstarter because he wants monies

    1. Well…he is an independent developer after all. Plus, that’s what all the indie devs do. Why give your game to Nintendo and Microsoft and Sony to make so they can steal all the credit and make it exclusive to their platforms when you can do it yourself with the help of the consumer and get the credit you deserve?

You can’t be sick of Inafune for wanting the credit for “HIS” game.

      1. he uses an image he didnt create and doesnt own to make make fans excited to fund his project, the dude is almost a rock star of the video game industry, why doesnt he go to the bank and fund his own shit…. he freaking can, let kickstarter to the small guys who need it. That’s why I’m starting to hate kickstarter aswell it used to be for small time devs and artists, now the big guys go in and collect millions of dollars leaving nothing for the true indie devs…..

            1. Did you also know that everything on this f*cking earth is not original? Everything is inspired by something that was already here on this f*cking world?

So what if it’s not his “image’? He still made megaman possible! Bullshit haters.

        1. He isn’t working alone. This isn’t some small budget game a rich person can make. He has to pay many other people on the project AND make a high quality game. Even he can’t afford that. He may have more money than the average person, but he is no Oprah Winfrey. I am sure he needs kickstarter to help make this game, plus it is a great way to get the community involved.

          1. with such a track record there is no way he can’t go to the bank and get a cash down for a new project or even to start his own studio completely

        2. Inafune isn’t Oprah Winfrey, even he doesn’t have enough money to fund this game. There are too many people working on it and it is too high quality for him to be able to afford it. He NEEDS the help of Kickstarter.

          1. nope that’s what bank are for, they lend you a bunch of money because you’re a high profile developer and then you can fund your own studio but that’s too much work, just let the fans pay for it,,, great mentality that lets a whole lot of nothing for small time devs who cant get money from banks however interesting their project may look because they are nobody, yep screw those guys no money from the bank and none from kickstarters

            1. Did you also know that $900k is a very small amount to create a game?
your commenting here like you’ve been robbed by inafune. Did he force you to donate or give money?
              Bitch

    2. well, you may be right, but i dont think someone(capcom, EA, etc) want to make a 2D game…..also, maybe they will want to change the game to be more “commercial”, thats most why he want to make the game with his team, to make exactly the game he want to make and not(the game) publishers wanna to sell.

        1. I only say outsource, because it seems more plausible than actually selling the franchise. CAPCOM selling Megaman on their own accord would be a dream come true for Nintendo. I could only see CAPCOM losing the rights if they are going bankrupt or something.

  2. It was clear that Mutant Mudds got a lot of inspiration from Mega Man series. So I presume that Jools Watsham would really love to do the port.

Anyway, Inafune has said himself the following:

“As you can imagine, we would love to see Mighty No.9 on as many systems as possible — and PS4/Xbox One is definitely on our “wouldn’t it be awesome” dream list (along with Vita and 3DS). We’ll be watching fan feedback and balancing that with projected costs, but for now the official line is it’s not part of the plan.”

But time will tell what will happen. In the end, I hope every gamer can be able to play this already highly-anticipated title.

  3. No, this game should only be released for PC, I bet this game can’t even get 30 frames on the 360 or PS3, I bet not even 10 on the 3ds.

    1. you are such a well informed gamer it’s amazing! Yep game systems that are fully capable of rendering 3d objects would all fail at rendeing a 2d game, clearly games cannot be optimized and are doomed to be on PC, all of them

      1. Well I played sonic adventures 2 on xbox 360 and dipped to 10 frames a lot, I also played plants vs zombies and only had a solid 20 frames.

    2. You’re dumb, the 3DS is able to run 40fps, just look at A Link between worlds. Guess you’re too dumb to make your re-search before saying shit.

  4. How awesome and to think that this game wasn’t gonna come for 3DS as well. Capcom, forge an alliance with Renegade to make this portable version happen. Fans would love you and Renegade for this favor. :)

And from the sounds of this new game being a spiritual successor of Megaman, I’m interested. :D

    1. Interesting, as long as you call it a $piritual $uccessor you are allowed to copy anyone and anything. I’ve got work to do, kickstarter get ready!
