NeoGAF member Cream Sugar has apparently lifted the lid on sales for the immensely popular Call of Duty Ghosts in the US in November. The game topped the NPD best-sellers list for the month on November, but we’ve yet to see a breakdown of sales for each platform. Here’s the data that Cream Sugar has provided.

- PlayStation 4: 7.39%
- Xbox 360: 55.45%
- PlayStation 3: 30.42%
- Wii U: 0.33%

A lot of “casual” gamers play CoD. Many people only play CoD and an occasional sports game because they don’t consider themselves to be hardcore gamers.
By the same reasoning, most of the people who saw Avengers were not hardcore moviegoers or hardcore comic book fans. When somebody with an iPhone wants to download a game for the first time, the first thing they look up is Angry Birds, usually.

You’re overlooking one factor: They want the games on Wii U but the main issue is they expect a complete package and the third party just continues throwing half-assed ports as means for an excuse to not develop for Nintendo anymore and their grand reason on Wii U: Its not as powerful or similar to PS4/One which it didn’t have to be since it’ll offer no competition or differences.
Short version: Third Parties are practically selfish against Nintendo/fans now and why its so called “support” on Wii U is a fail because the third parties themselves are their own achilles’ heel. It doesn’t take much thinking and common sense to figure this out.
If third parties were to give Wii U games more support/features as the other versions, then they’re gonna get it. Don’t expect to throw in half-baked cookies without telling people what makes them “good” and expect them to eat it up unacknowledged.

It definitely didn’t help that many stores didn’t even carry the Wii U version. I went to three Targets, two Best Buys and two Gamestops before I found one that carried it. And the Gamestop I found it at only received 2 copies. Is be interested in learning how many copies of the game Activision even released for the Wii U in the first place.

I meant in total. Well Bo1 sold 1.78 million while MW3 sold 670,000 globally. As the install base got larger, the COD sales on Wii did the complete opposite. BO2 on WiiU is at 210,000.

There ya go…that’s the correct answer right there. Its no fucking surprise that the wiiu has that number for CoD Ghosts, the dam company didn’t go by equal terms after they said they wouldn’t but you know what…that’s one company that I won’t ever trust again.
The first thing that made me NOT want to get Ghosts was the lack of any shits given for Blops 2 on my Wii U. At the very least, the DLC maps would have been very nice to have. This on top of the fact that I’m not your typical tard that automatically buys a CoD game at launch combined into me waiting. From everything I’ve heard of surrounding Ghosts thus far though, I don’t really want it at all, not even for 30 bucks. It makes me sick to think how it does so well in the market.
I’ll say this though, I bought Deus Ex as soon as it hit the Wii U, obviously having never played it before. I did so because I knew I was going to love it, and the reviews helped. It’s too bad that good games don’t dominate in this industry where, as most others, what really matters is advertising/publicity.
It feels like people just want to show off their brand, the brand everyone knows about that makes them look cool. People like to spend money on shit just to show that they can. Go out and get yourself some popular new clothes, and also that Xbox you heard someone talk about.

Actually for me it works better than the pro/wiimote… And when I play on the gamepad screen it feels awesome!!! (Fuck!!! I wasted $800 on a 32″ LCD just to turn it off and play on my gamepad xD) so does the dual screen gameplay!! Now you can play with friends without cheating jaja

Rayman sold the most on the Wii U. That said, Rayman sales overall with abysmal, Didn’t crack 1 million last I checked.

I think it is more of the fact that Nintendo fans did not get the majority of the CoD games over the last gen, did not get any (or much) DLC that the other versions got, and (the most important of all) the major fan bases for CoD games are on Playstation and Xbox. I think that the fan base on Wii U could grow as time goes on, but gimped ports and missing DLC are not going to help sales on that version. I am just hoping that they don’t cut support knowing how small their Wii U fan base is. It will grow as long as you support them. Free online is nothing to scoff at and I think that Nintendo markets with that in mind they could get more CoD players, and players in general, on board with the Wii U.
I would actually like to see a Call of Duty type game with the Nintendo characters. It would be awesome to see Peach with a bazooka in her hands hunting down Diddy Kong.

If there is one thing I love it is the Nintendo stand alone titles, I think it is awesome to be able to go against the grain and play on a console that is it’s own unique entity. When Ghosts was launched, and you strolled into your local game shop – how much advertising was tehre for PS3/4 and Xbox versions? Think about it. In my store the place had had a CoD makeover with posters and games lining the walls and shelves – only not for Wii U.
Wii U had ONE case – ONE CoD GHOSTS CASE on the bottom shelf og the Wii U section THE BOTTOM SHELF!!!

Nintendo babies only want their baby games. One only has to read all the comments above to see why. Gone are the days when Nintendo was a much more diversified company that made all sorts of games for the ones of us who never been interested in any of the baby Mario and whatnot games. When they had Rare, Silicon Knights, the excellent relationship with Factor 5, Left Field, etc. Now the only studio they have left who could have done something different (Retro) is put to work on another baby game. With Iwata in charge all Nintendo does is baby games. Baby game this and baby game that.
And so 3rd party support will continue to lack on the Wii U and the Wii U will continue to only get baby games.

This is sad, but true. Our commuity is somewhere around 1200 a day. Probably 3000-4000 people actually own it. You know though, I actually like that. I recognize everyone in our community. Also if it wasn’t for the wii-mote support I would never touch an fps. I hope Activision keeps CoD on Nintendo platforms for people like me.
CoD hard core players should buy the Wii U version because it brings the hard core version of the game with the Gamepad features. The other version really is core player focused with DLC and other marketing stuff. But hey, those numbers don’t add up to 100% but to 100.01%

I agree, in terms of gameplay. But I’m sure the fan base won’t die out any time soon. I’m 26, the only people I know that play CoD nowadays are my cousin’s 12 year old kids.. everyone else my age or at work I know are playing BF for shooters and feel the same way about CoD. The last fun I had for FPS was Halo4, but it was really short and we played the hell out of it already so right now all I’m excited for are the upcoming 2014 Nintendo games, Destiny & Titanfall for current gen consoles. Killzone once the PS4 doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, got bills to pay.
Played and beaten every CoD up until Black Ops 2 on 360. Bought Ghosts for WiiU and stopped after almost an hour in and traded it in for GT6. imo, it died after MW1.. Never buying CoD ever again, tired of the same stuff with random storyline and recycled multiplayer mechanics >_> at this point, CoD ‘is’ casually bought just because it’s CoD-it’s the reason I got Ghosts. I was in line picking up Castlevania HD Collection for PS3 and everyone else was in line for Ghosts so I was just like ‘what the hell why not’ After the space scene in the start of the campaign it got so boring. Hopped online, played a bit and got annoyed and found nothing new that was decent. Got really disappointed with the new tiny amount of customization. I’ll be picking up BF4 instead for the holidays in terms of FPS.
