Pure Chess Will Release For Wii U And 3DS eShops On March 20

Indie developer Ripstone Games has announced that Pure Chess will arrive on Wii U and 3DS next week. The strategic game was due to release last year for both platforms but hit a number of teething issues during further testing. The game developer has confirmed that the cross-platform feature is now fully working, which will allow users to play against their friends across the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, iPad, iPhone, iPod and Android devices.

Pure Chess will be available to download in the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops on March 20 for the delightful price of £4.99 / €5.99 / $7.99 – you can check out the trailer for the game above.

  1. First off, this game looks really great witb smooth edges, lighting, reflections. I know it doesn’t require a lot of graphical prowess, but it looks great.
Secondly, I’ve always enjoyed chess. So this will be a nice addition to my robust indie collection on my Wii U.
Thirdly, the cross platform ability is so awesome! I hope more games in the future allow for this feature.
Fourthly, I hope there will be a good amount of things to acquire, such as different sets, boards, backgrounds, and colors.
    Have a nice day everyone.

  2. I have this for the PS3 and Vita. It is a beautiful game. I will definitely buy it for my 3DS. It should also be amazing on the Wii U.

  3. Wow. For that price I may pick it up on both my Wii U and 3DS. Will pick it up on Wii U first though due to the premium digital promotion.
