UK Charts: Mario Kart 8 Climbs Into Second Position, Tomodachi Life Sits At 12

This week’s UK charts are now in courtesy of GFK Chart Track. Mario Kart 8 continues to stick like glue to Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs, which claims the number one spot for the third week running, while the racing title moves from last week’s fourth to second in the individual chart. According to sales tracker UKIE, Mario Kart’s only one hundred sales behind multi-platform title Wolfenstein: The New Order in the all-formats chart – stellar news for Nintendo’s flagship title.

Returning to the individual chart, Tomodachi Life for Nintendo 3DS hasn’t managed to edge its way into the top 10 as yet, but it’s not far off and sits at 12 this week – up three from last week’s number 15. Pokemon Y also re-enters  at number 37 this week, rounding off the top 40. You can take a look at the UK individual top 40 games chart below.

      1. You know what would be funny? If Watch Dogs was the game to save the Wii U. Lol. It releases fall which I’m assuming is close to Hyrule Warrior’s release in September. I think that’s gonna affect it’s sales on the Wii U version. And then Ubisoft will officially announce they are done making games for Wii U. LOL. I’m betting Hyrule Warriors will get the steam going again though. Heck, I’m probably one of the only few here actually getting WD for Wii U to go with Hyrule Warriors! XD Remember guys, if Wii U starts getting more 3rd party support, remember to thank me. ;)

        1. Actually it’ll be thanks to all of us that buy 3rd Party games. Yes I’m picking up Watch Dogs for Wii U.

        2. They’re looking for an excuse to back out and they’re gonna get it for which I don’t give a crap.

  1. Nintendo is my Blood

Wow, MK8 beat Watch Dogs on Xbox, Xbox One and PS3? That is impressive that a Wii U exclusive (A supposed “Last gen console”) beat the likes of a last gen and a next gen console

also a game like Tomadachi Life reaching number 12 is brilliant

        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I don’t understand german much but basically he said that MK8 is also topping the charts in germany and that the UK is not EU…

Atleast that’s my interpretation of it…

    1. Ha ha. Bet his bitch ass is sitting in a corner weeping. Wish I was there to record his gorilla ass crying and then beat his ass with his Wii U to do him and us a favor. XD

      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

This Sony Emperor Xperia is just one of those fake Aeolus that calls me “Gay Commander” and is also a nazi garbage ape…

        1. Like I have stated, Sony does does not have royalty as leaders. He is not an emperor, nor do I take orders from the likes of him.

    1. Thanks to PS4 popularity but I’m damn impressed MK8 made it this far in UK, the nation that “hates” Nintendo. XD

  3. I wonder how much more Mario Kart 8 will need to knock spots off of Watch Dogs? Whatever it is, I jolly well hope that Mario Kart becomes victorious! Screw Explicit Video Games!

        1. I have to agree with commander on this one. It’s rated “M” but the game itself is a bit juvenile. Still buying the hell out of Bayonetta 2 though!

          1. Well, uh.. I guess. If you put aside the blood and sexual themes. But trust me, you’d be surprised what they can put in M games. The only thing Dead Space 3 has on the box art is some dude in a space suit. But it is one of the goriest games I’ve ever seen. Never judging a game by it’s box art again. ;_;

I wonder if Mario Kart 8 will eventually become number 1? Or if Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 will drop off in sales on the same week…

    hmmmm???

Either way, I love seeing the game sell well!!!

  5. Watch Dogs is utter shit and yet people massively bought the PS4 version, while Mario Kart 8 is dope.
PS4 owners are really desperate for games man…

  6. Mario Kart will surpass all versions of Watch Dogs in the next few weeks. Nintendo games usually have “legs” in these scenarios. They really have nowhere to go but up.

Everyone like to point to Nontendo as out of touch but I think this last E3 proved that they were listening and showing actual changes in their way if thinking.

Remember, Nintendo is a relatively small company compared to Sony and MS so they take the slump that the Wii U is in way more seriously. I think their recent actions show that they are receptive as well.

  7. If MK8 performed that much to catch up to PS4 Watchdogs, imagine MK8 in the long run since Nintendo games usually sell continuously after the fact so MK8 has already beaten Watchdogs.

    Go Nintendo. :)

  8. It’s easy to predict that in terms of hardware, the Wii U sales are boosting, but I wanted to see exactly /HOW MUCH/, which is something that the UK charts usually don’t show :/

  9. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Watch_Dogs for PS4 is stubbornly clinging to the #1 spot over there in the UK. I wish this chart was giving us actual sales numbers. I’d really love to know how far behind Mario Kart 8 is behind Watch_Dogs. Probably not too far behind.

Looking at this chart makes me both mad & disappointed, though. Watch_Dogs for Wii U could have possibly been helping Mario Kart 8 boost sales of Wii U as they both could possibly be dominating sales as they both control the 2nd & 3rd spots in the sales chart. Who knows. Maybe the Wii U version could have been pummeling the PS4 version.

Oh well. No point dwelling on what might have been. But damn! Ubisoft better not screw up the Wii U port or I won’t even buy it for dirt cheap.

    1. Its Ubisoft fucking over Nintendo fan repeatedly over somw imaginative BS of sales that they help tarnished themselves from its first year. Fuck Ubiliars.
