During E3 we were all given access to a variety of demos for unreleased indie titles on the Wii U. The fresh initiative was called the Nindies@Home program and was most likely a success for those involved. Speaking to Polygon, Damon Baker, senior manager for licensing marketing at Nintendo America, hinted that it’s something they are thinking of doing again and are exploring options and capabilities.
“We don’t have anything to announce. But I can say that we’re certainly exploring options and capabilities. So anything is possible. I guess the important part of it is we’re very conscious of it and definitely looking at it.”
“[It would help with] working out some of the kinks, the server loads or what matching those expectations so that it’s a prime experience when the full version actually launches.”
“So there could be some benefits there, but I think it’s a very sensitive topic, because you wouldn’t ever want to ask for money for something that doesn’t become fully-realized.”
Thanks, Christopher B

I think it could be something they could bring along side the Nintendo codename “NX” console to be honest.
If Nintendo plays it right, it could work well. Add in forums, maybe even developer Miiverse rooms for players to give feedback on. Add plenty of warning signs for consumers to know they aren’t buying a complete product. But if they don’t, it’s literally paying for broken, half-baked games. Could really go either way
I just thinking it could be a double wammy surprise if Nintendo shows of codename “NX” with Early Access games at the same time. It would interest a lot of people, as well as announcing modifiability to ALL games on the NX if the developer allows it, that’d just destroy the competition.
I just don’t see why people are so eager to jump in the “pay-to-test” -bandwagon. I could understand if you would get to play the (beta) game for free (up to a certain point?), and optionally purchase at any time during the Early Access, but I just don’t understand paying up front. Kickstarter and such already exists for those looking to get funding.
Makes it a lot more simpler for the indie dev without getting half their money taken away from them which could have helped push the game to the limits like Kickstarter would do. Patreon is basically Early Access with a monthly subscription.
I thought it was about having more Demos on the Eshop. That’ll be awesome.
Yup. I played all the early access. Some were meh, others were ok, but I liked the fact that they are bringing some of E3 to my living room :)
Its a nice idea, would be cool if Nintendo were to let WiiU players next year to download demo´s of the game they promote at Treehouse. Would have been cool to try out few levels of StarFoxZero. But this is probably more “indie” oriented thing, atleast the early access demos last time were just indie games, not complaining though because i would love to have early access demo for Fast Racing Neo, that game looks gorgeus.
As a furry, I approve of your background.
Literally throw up in my fucking mouth after reading this shit.
*through
Wrong XD

>>>My holy N boy>>>
Lol whatever
remember when demo’s where a thing? well gues what we are bringing them back
Early access and demos aren’t the same.
Well, herp derp, Early Access Demos but you probably know what I mean
Yes please more Sonic Fan Characters games. ( geez why can’t you guy go hang out at Microsoft for a while..they’d love you there )
The Wii had tons of demos. I downloaded nearly every one just so I could make a series of videos demonstrating them (a preview series). Then never did the series for one reason or the other. Since then, I never paid attention to whether there was any demos on the Wii U eShop.
Good thing for this so I can finally try Freedom Planet which the game had me sold. :)
Not entirely sure why the FP thumbnail though. The game didnt release as early access.
