Nintendo: ‘Unlike Wii, Multi-Platform Games Will Be On Wii U’

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime gets irritated whenever someone claims that Nintendo lost hardcore gamers due to Wii. He says that he knows people who spend hours a day playing games on Wii. Fils-Aime admits that Wii lacked multi-platform games from “key publishers,” but promises that Wii U will be different. According to Fils-Aime, the Wii U’s capabilities provide a “huge competitive advantage versus where Nintendo was with the Wii.”

Would you admit that, with Wii, Nintendo lost some of the hardcore gaming audience?

“You know, I really chafe at that comment. Define the hardcore. I know people who are playing Smash Bros. Brawl competitively today. They’re playing hours on that game. People are playing hours on New Super Mario Bros.”

“What I’ll tell you is that with the Wii we did not have the benefit of multiplatform games from key publishers. I didn’t have The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I didn’t have the best of the Call of Duty games. That’s what I missed.”

“With the Wii U’s graphics capability, processing power, and HD-output, we’ll get those games. That’s a huge competitive advantage versus where we were with the Wii.”

  1. When the Wii U is released, I’m sure we’ll be seeing multi-player games… especially for hardcore gamers. Third party publishers will have multi-player games on Nintendo’s 8th gen console.

        1. Me too… but he “those games” but i would not count on this… with black ops 2 and elder scroll online is more than enough!…Is like Assassin creed 3. I believe if it sells pretty well on Wii U, they will re-release the prequels on Wii U. Just dreaming…

        1. Care to explain how Wii U is 7th?

          NES – 1st
          SNES – 2nd
          Nintendo 64 – 3rd
          GameCube – 4th
          Wii – …7th?

I know people love to classify “generations” broadly and generally, but that’s not how the real world works.

If I have a child, and my child has a child, that’s the THIRD generation. Doesn’t matter WHEN it all happened.

I’m not quite sure where everyone got the idea that TIME determines generation for all consoles and not the lineage of consoles themselves, relative to their successor(s).

Now if you want to say its Nintendo’s console for the 8th generation of console gaming, sure; that’s more accurate. But to say “it’s Nintendo’s 8th gen console” is a misnomer.

            1. Magnavox Odyssey- first generation
              Atari 2600- second gen
              NES-third gen
              SNES-fourth Gen
              N64-fifth Gen
              gamecube-sixth gen
              Wii-seventh Gen
              Wiiu-eighth Gen

  2. He makes a point – Wii was disadvantaged and also had poor ports.

Wii U levels the playing field, while simultaneously pushing Nintendo into working more options in to suit all audiences.

In retrospect, Wii U is an apology console. It’s undoing the mistakes caused by missed multiplatform chances due to weak hardware on Wii.

    1. They don’t need to apologise for the Wii at all. It was a very good console and lots of people love it.

      1. Lol, to who? Legions of idiotic fanboys and non-gaming casuals who are using it for Netflix and Wii Fit?

Wii is the worst major console ever produced by Nintendo. Ever.

That’s why the core gamers abandoned Nintendo and went to MS/Sony like they rightfully should. Or even moved to PCs.

        Nintendo sucks.

        1. Aeolus you’re the biggest guyblow of all. The only “gamers” that dis the Wii are the ones that played Wii Sports once or twice and judged the console based on that. Nintendo wanted to attract others, besides the already gamers, to video games and succeeded. First in console sales for the 7th generation to this point outselling Microsoft by 28 million units sold, and Sony by 30 mil. as of Jan. 2012. You can argue price is the reason why, which I won’t argue that, but that’s just another reason why Nintendo is more intelligent than the other two big guys. They know what their customers want; 2008 the economy went down the shitter and Nintendo had a console priced below the competitors because they knew that. Also to out sell the competition by nearly 30 million units sold is an ass-whooping. Sony made the worst console of the 7th generation hands down; they admit their mistake as well. (I do think Sony will bounce back for the 8th gen. though.) There are plenty of tremendous titles that came out on the Wii; I’m sorry you were too stupid to pick them up and play them.

          {http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=wii&cat=0&year=0&numrev=0&sort=0&letter=&search=}

If you think graphics make a great console than you’re a retard. Nintendo actually cares about structure, solid game-play, and storyline. Now everyone show this MF’er some mad disrespect for being the biggest fanboy of all. You should support all of the console manufacturers and be happy video-games exist at all.

          1. I got to say thank you to you for this well thought out response. Everything you said is the truth. But in future keep in mind that Aeolus is a troll and must be responded to under any circumstance. Leave him to wallow in his ignorance.

          2. Wii has the worst metacritic review score averages of any platform this generation. I’ll let you figure out why.

            1. Sickr or Alba, Can we get this elitist fanboy banned from here? He’s just here to bag Nintendo and annoy us.

          3. Stopped reading when you brought up sales.

“Sales” didn’t stop the dust gathering spree in 70% of Wii owners. And Wii Fit sold 43 fucking million units, all of which are very likely casuals.

              1. Stop responding to Aeolus. He is obviously a troll and a hypocrite. The Wii’s sales don’t matter but the PS1 & PS2 sales do. it’s not worth responding to him. Leave him to wallow in his ignorance and hypocrisy.

                1. Wii sales don’t matter when the top selling games on it were all casual titles, where as PS1/PS2 were core games. Real games. For real gamers.

                2. I brought it up when people said the console is a failure, when it consistently gets supported and even lived on after the rampant piracy.

The PSP actually has content, whereas the Wii has garbage and shovelware.

      2. Incorrect. Wii U is the console built up to during Wii’s time. Wii was of course the one intermediate step necessary for Wii U to formulate. A necessary step that both Microsoft and Sony skipped because they got really greedy with graphical power(exacerbated also by the PC’s push in power), and it’s that missed step that they’re very awkwardly trying to incorporate into their current consoles with the stupid Move and Kinect.

        1. A necessary step that served to further alienate the real gamers they had left.

Statistics show 60% of Wii’s are gathering dust in people’s homes.

29% claim that the fad “got old quick”.

11% are “fine with it and still enjoy the device”.

Statistics show the Wii has the worst review averages of any platform this generation.
It also shows those gamers moved onto Kinect+360/iOS/mobile and even gaming on social networking sites of all things

Microsoft got greedy? Not really. They actually took hardware losses at the 360 launch. Microsoft is turning the 360 into a set-top box/the go to device in the homes of families. That’s why it’s been the best selling console in 2011 and 2010. That’s why they make an effort to cater to everyone while visibly not neglecting the hardcore gamers. Their third party support is powerful and even the few first party games they have turn out to be the most anticipated games of the entire generation.

Do explain MS’ greed, because as far as I’m concerned they have perhaps the best bang for the buck in any console this generation.

      3. The Wii was a Wii U prototype… They wanted to test the hardware so they made Wii… Now that the Wii sold good, they made Wii U (what they intended for Wii.

    2. Personally I hate the title of a “hardcore” or a “casual” gamer, why can’t we all just be gamers with different interests?

        1. Because this even affects business.

What developers refers to as “Hardcore gamers” will fall under a different demographic compared to what they refer a “casual” gamer, who wouldn’t really be that interested in the latest news about software, nor consoles, and may just want to play a game every now and then.

So that affects marketing, who is being the target audience for the selling game, actual work put in the game, etc.

          1. what about the mid gamers… The people who have there minds on certain games and play those games only. who only pay attention to news on those particular games. There are many levels of gamers. A casual gamer goes through stages. Everyone was a casual gamer at first.

            1. Yeah, I’d consider myself more of a “mid”-gamer. I’m very into certain game series (mostly Nintendo ones), keep up with updates on those, but don’t care too much about other games, including most of the ones that often are labelled “hardcore” (dark, “mature”-ish type of games). Really, I’d say “hardcore” or “casual” is more about HOW and how much you play, not WHAT you play.

              1. even then it can’t be described as just those 2 categories. it’s like saying all games are either first person or third person.

      1. I don’t hate those labels, I just hate their socially accepted definition. Back in the mid-80s, a “hardcore gamer” would be a person who spends the bulk of their days playing games like Zelda. Now it means spending the bulk of our days playing testosterone-pumped games like Call of Duty, ie. FPSs..

        1. No, it means playing competitive games, be it online or otherwise. Brawl is a hardcore title. Mario is not, because these days, Mario games can be bested by even the most novice of gamers.

Older Mario titles were infinitely more challenging, and are thus classified as “core” games. Those titles that appeal to large audiences due to scaled-back competitiveness and/or difficulty are “casual” games, since they present no real tension or “hardcore devotion.”

Don’t blame the labels, blame the people who don’t know the definition of them.

          1. “Those titles that appeal to large audiences due to scaled-back competitiveness and/or difficulty are “casual” games, since they present no real tension or “hardcore devotion.”

            Perfectly said.

          2. So trying to beat Mario faster than your friends couldn’t be considered “hardcore”. Trying to bowl a better score than your friends couldn’t be “hardcore”. Every “casual” game can be played “hardcore”.

            1. EXACTLY. I was just about to post this. Every game can have competitive elements to it. You CANNOT call GAMES casual or hardcore. You can only call GAMERS casual or hardcore, depending on how they play.

              1. I agree. Only one thing though, the are more than just “casual” and “hardcore” gamers. There are gamers in the middle. Casual and hardcore are treated like yes or no. There are maybes in between.

            2. brb let me play my hardcore nintendogs.

Sorry, not every game can be played “hardcore” no matter how hard you want to believe it.

              1. yes every game can be played hardcore. Even a game like nintendogs. Just because you can’t do it, it doesn’t mean someone else can’t do it.

      2. Because everything in this world apparently has to be put in a box and labeled so people can feel better about themselves and their associations.

      3. I have been gaming for over 20 years, and own all current consoles. I would however call myself a casual gamer as i game for fun, also a lot of people who call themselves hardcore gamers are arse holes.

      4. i think the term “hardcore” should be reserved for the people who spend a lot of time and money on video games. not some 12 year old that plays call of duty before he goes to bed.

      5. I agree, I would consider myself a casual gamer as I don’t spend all my spare time playing games, but at the same time, I am interested in playing so called hardcore games

      6. I’m sure even you don’t believe in that. You’re only saying that so no one else can say it, then when its appropriate, you will say it yourself. Like, say, when the Wii U really does turn out hardcore, then you’ll be happy it was hardcore, thus negating your comment here about not caring about hardcore or casual.

    3. Hmmm sounds like Wii U will have Unreal Engine 4 after all, if not then… I’ll still buy it but it would be said to see them lose a lot of publishers again like they did with the Wii

        1. Just to avoid confusion, future=next gen, not all consoles from this point forth. :P I just realized my comment could get misconstrued as that.

        2. Read the article, and it did not list a single one of the big 3 consoles as being confirmed for Unreal 4 support.
On the flip side, there was a statement made by the Vice President of Epic Games[who makes the Unreal Engine] that he has no plans to put the Unreal Engine 4 into any of the next-gen consoles at this time. PS4, 720, and Wii U aren’t confirmed to use it.
The Wii U, however, is confirmed to use the Unreal Engine 3.9, which is more than good enough.

          1. Isn’t Unreal Engine 3.5 not Unreal Engine 3.9?

And they did confirm it would be on the next gen console but games that use UE4 will not be available for sometime for console. So it doesn’t mean that it won’t come out for consoles, it means they will be focusing on PC games that use the engine for now.

Either way UE 3.5 looks great and if the Wii U can do all that then I’m in

          2. The article made logical statements as to how it could appear on the Wii U. If the iPhone can support it, there is no reason therefore for the Wii U to not support.

            1. Stop spreading that bullshit. He SPECIFICALLY said that “maybe in the future even an iPhone can run it”. How the FUCK does that equate to “iphone can support it”?

All you fanboys ever do is clutch at straws.

              1. All you ever do is waste your time and bash Nintendo on an obscure Nintendo website for fun and yet you wonder why we say you have no life. The thing is that Unreal Engine can be scaled between various platforms.

Rein – “And likewise if you were going to do something cross-generational, like Mortal Kombat on PS Vita, Xbox, PS3 and potentially it could be on iPad… that’s Unreal. Unreal spans the gamut, it goes from the smallest smartphone platforms up to the highest spec PC you can build and beyond.”

                1. “If you were”

                  “potentially”

So you managed to prove me right in two key words. He was referring to UE3, which runs on iPhones, Vita and a wide range of Android devices. No mention UE4, PERIOD.

    4. Unless WiiU can run unreal engine4 then we will have the multi-plats. If not then when PS4/Xbox3 comes out then WiiU will go right back to square 1 & be the Wii again .weaker.& underpowered. so they better do it roght this Gen

      1. thenintendoreviewer

I still say gameplay is what matters most but sadly it seems processing power does make a difference in terms of how many developers and consoles gets. With that in mind, let’s hope that the Wii U’s power is strong. Doesn’t have to be more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox 720 but it should be on par or so close that no one will be able to tell the difference anyway.

        1. Processing power directly affects gameplay AS WELL AS graphics. It includes powering physics, collision, AI, etc.

So yes, processing power definitely matters when release a new console almost 7 years after current consoles have been out. A marked upgrade in power is key, otherwise developers are stuck making the same games they’ve been making for years. No developer really wants to forcibly be boxed in like that, no matter how good looking games may currently look/run.

          1. The system will run Unreal Engine 4, so we should not worry. Sadly, the Wii U will be a bit less powerful P than the PS4/720.

              1. Yea both have been in development for years…… They just haven’t officially announced them yet.

            1. UE4 is scalable though, so having it run on Wii U isn’t the same as it running on say, PS4, for example. But thankfully, the majority of differences will be visual (i.e. beards/hair on PS4 and 720 will look more detailed and such as compared to Wii U; not a big deal).

Also, it’s not ACTUALLY been confirmed to be on Wii U specifically. They said “current and next gen consoles”, but that’s not all inclusive. That just means it will span more than one generation of platform, not that it’ll run on ALL platforms.

If we’ve learned anything about the Wii U after E3 this year, it’s that a lot of things AREN’T coming (at least not for the immediate future) to the Wii U that we may have expected.

      2. It will still be less powerful than the next two, Nintendo have said that, but the difference will be much less. It’ll be more like generation 6 (GCN/PS2/BOX) but Nintendo will win this time IMO.

        1. Keep lying to yourself.

How is Nintendo going to win this time? This system is utter shit lacking features consoles two generations ago had. And the casuals are already confused about whether or not it’s a console.

The only way they’ll get anywhere is a low asking price, because there is absolutely no reason mommy is going to get the same thing *in her head* that she’s already purchased for her kiddies.

          1. Quit fucking lying to yourself, Ass-clown! Reggie have already stated, “With the Wii U’s graphics capability, processing power, and HD-output, we’ll get those games. That’s a huge competitive advantage versus where we were with the Wii.” Nintendo will have the advange by bringing Wii U graphics, multi-player games, and online gaming via Nintendo Network. Just wait until the Holiday launch.

      3. Don’t worry, UE4 will be coming out for the Wii U but like Epic said it might be a while before game console developers actually get around to creating games using UE4 for consoles such as the PS3, XBOX 360 (These are consoles that could run it), PS4, XBOX 720 and Wii U (Which is turning out to be more likely).

Also the Wii U will be underpowered compared to the PS4/720 but they will only be minor changes in performance. Games console graphics have almost reached the limit as to what they can produce and we will be seeing some changes but not by a whole lot.

        1. as someone that just got a highend graphics card for my pc as a gift, consoles have quite a ways to go in terms of graphics. that being said, i don’t really think that that is something console maufactures should be focusing too heavily on. from now on if a console doesn’t present itself with a unique way to play games that i simply can not get anywhere else, then it’ll be a pass. and this is why i love nintendo. you can always count on them to produce something unique, with an exception to gamecube (but even then it was still and awesome console).

          1. I see where your coming from, I still believe that PC gaming will always be 5 steps ahead of console gaming but you have to admit, consoles are doing so badly trying to keep up and its alot cheaper than building and buying a PC.

Still time will tell whether console gaming will be just as powerful as PCs

            1. the thing is, im going to be set for a good 4 or 5 years with this card. im not going to have to upgrade it for a loong time, but with the 360, it seemed like it needed an upgrade not even 2 years after it came out. and it’s not just the graphics, it’s the ability to actually run the games at a decent fps. it really does change the quality of a game when you can run it at 60+fps

              1. I need to upgrade mine as well…..after 4/5 years my my 5770 struggles to play the latest games on very high or ultra settings . I was able to get away with it since it was running everything at least at 30fps but I think Skyrim was the last game that was the case on ultra.

                1. yeah i went from a gt 430 to a gtx 670. the difference is night and day lol. before i could play the latest games at medium and now i can run anything on ultra no sweat. it’s a pretty great card.

      4. It won’t be underpowered to the point where devs can’t produce great games for it. The gap between the Wii U and the other two next-gen machines won’t be a big one. I can guarantee that, thanks to the state of our economy and the price-tag/production costs that such a thing would cause, which is something the other two need to avoid if they wish to price and sell their next gen stuff competitively.

      5. Every game does not use Unreal Engine 4. There are many engines that developers use. One engine doesn’t mean no multiplats. This mindset needs to be changed.

    5. Hopefully developers will see how amazing the Wii U is/can be so they won’t neglect it or make watered down ports anymore. It’s looking promising so far. But I’m still waiting to hear Capcom bringing RE 5 and 6 to the Wii U. If they like Nintendo now as much as they say then they should prove it.

    6. im glad for the wiiu. But these multiplatform games may only be around for 2 years. one year till when the next gen systems are rumored to come in…and then like another year after their launch till developers start neglecting the wiiu for the very same reason they neglected the wii.

i can easily see that being the case. That is unless developers are smart and use the wiiu as the lead development platform for multiplatform games, and then upgrade the games when they are ported to other consoles. That would be the smart thing to do. But developers and publishers these days arent very smart.

      1. the reason why the couldn’t do that last generation was because of the huge gap in power. the wii was severely lacking in terms of power. that doesnt make it a bad system per say, but inconvenient for multiplatform developers

        1. It also just wasn’t about power. The Wii has rather different architecture AND the main controller wasn’t exactly a “traditional” controller so those are also factors for the lack of the Wii’s 3rd party support.

          1. There actually wasn’t a controller issue as the Classic Controller was there at launch. The problem was the fact that more Wii owners only had the Wiimote and Nunchuck (if that much), so ports that did come were designed around the primary scheme.

Thankfully the Wii U Gamepad is a lot more standard in design than the Wiimote+Nunchuck combo, and even then game journalists made the biggest deal about the Wii U Pro after Nintendo Direct, a level of exposure the Classic Controller didn’t experience. Even if the WUP does meet the same fate as the CC, developers won’t be dealing with too foreign of a scheme.

            1. Well that’s kind of what I meant. the Wiimote and the Nunchuck was the standard controller so you couldn’t have expected everyone to go out and buy a Classic Controller. All I can say is that I do agree with you, the Wii-U GamePad shouldn’t provide any difficulty in terms of figuring out controls.

              1. It seems fake because they didn’t show much animation and the reflection in the water wasn’t even reflective

              2. Oh look at you, trying to be a smartass.

The information in the vid is fake. No one said the video itself was fake.

    7. Here’s hoping that people will buy the bigger third-party games on WiiU so there is a real demand shown to 3PDevs and not just talk. They would then be more willing to release even more in the future instead of just carnival stuff.

      1. It has been foretold in the ancient scrolls of the three Game Gods that the great-great-great-grandson of the NES will bring forth the rebirth of console gaming and destroy the vile mobile & tablet clan once and for all. The consoles of the time will bow to this savior and follow closely behind among its footsteps, scared to wonder off alone. The ‘Wii U’ will soon rise to change the tide and restore the power back to the hands of the true.

          1. I would like to say that I just made that up, be in reality I have a strange feeling that the Game Gods are speaking through me. I keep hearing something about the “Ancient Scrolls were destroyed by android assassins, sent to blind the army of the future and further secure their pathway to ‘over-tech'”.

    8. All right so Black ops 2,Fall of Cybertron,Blacklist, tomb raider,DMC,new Nfs, MLB and NBA 2k12,South Park,Dead Space 3 ,Warfighter are all coming to Wii U Hell yeah lets throw in some HD GC and Wii games and ill never play another system again. Add that to Pikmin 3 NSMB2,Lego City Undercover ,Darksiders2,AC3, Tank game and project m100 are looking bad ass ,Tekken T2 and sonic racing damn I’ll never play my 360 again

      1. But the truth is that we should not worry about Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Devil May Cry 5, we mus worry about Dead Space 4, Crysis 4, Mass Effect 4 and the new IPs coming this gen.

    9. If you can get/make cool homebrew for this console, i will buy it. otherwise, if the community is low due to the fail of the wii, i don’t want to buy something you can’t even unlock or something like the 3ds. no one made a homebrew channel for 3ds! the 3ds should have future due to the cool 3d engine and other stuff that motivated me into trying to program it. but without a community that helps you, it gets really hard…

          1. siegfried von schroder

no wonder developers dont wana bring their games because of fucking pirates like you! I hope you get caught

    10. Wait a sec, did Reggie just confirm that the Wii U is getting Skyrim and Call of Duty?

Why else would he say stuff like ‘I didn’t’ and ‘With the Wii U’s graphical power, we’ll get those games?

He may have just worded it wrong, but that would be awesome if it’s true.

        1. Not officially though. It was only previewed in the NGamer mag but nothing official from Ninty of Acti.

    11. I still have my doubts about the Wii U. On sites like GameSpot, there are nothing but bad news, and everybody is just being negative towards Nintendo. They have to show Retro’s game ASAP, or else the Wii U might just fail due to the ”I have a 360 and/or PS3, why should I get a Wii U if I can play the same games on the 360 and/or PS3?” idiots.

      1. siegfried von schroder

i stopped… at gamespot…. ROFL do YOU like Nintendo games? if yes then dont worry! :) Nintendo will deliver. On wii they delivered first party games and second part like last story and Xenoblade.

    12. Developers have no excuse not to bring their games to the Wii U. The controls are perfect and they have many options at that, nobody’s forcing them to use the Upad if they don’t want to. The power gap between the console in the 8th generation will not be that large, unless Sony/MS want to seel $450-$600 consoles again and they’re in no position to do so.

Bring the 3rd party back home to Nintendo and keep delivering the stellar Nintendo 1st and 2nd party line up and we’re looking at the second coming of the SNES. Leave luck to heaven.

        1. But the fact is there is no audience on the Wii U, there is only the one you make. If they were smart, they would jump at the chance to get in on the ground floor of a Nintendo console. Create a fanbase for their product on Wii U and it will grow from there.

I also think some developers are afraid to put their games on a Nintendo platform because they think their game will be dwarfed by Nintendo’s 1st party titles. But there aren’t any of the big franchises at launch right now, except for Pikmin which is big but not BIG, now would be the perfect time to bring a game to the U imo.

          1. Yeah, only a new Zelda or F-Zero would totally make Wii U fans ignore the third party games, but since there is not much information on those, I don’t see a problem.

      1. Companies had no excuse to develop for the N64 either. Or for the Gamecube. There was nothing about those two consoles that should have turned off anyone from developing for them. Hell, the Gamecube had better graphical processing than the PS2. What the hell more did they want.

        1. True, but the times have changed. Everyone was caught up in the PlayStation craze It was new and exciting and all the 3rd parties ran to them. That time has passed. We’ll see how it turns out this time.

        2. Actually there were reasons for why they wouldn’t have developed for the N64 and the GameCube. For the N64, cartridges had WAY less space than CD’s and had higher manufacturing costs and, ntm, the N64 Controller was also a bit…odd. For the GameCube, it lacked a stable online system, used mini-DVD’s instead of DVD’s, and, again, lacked a 3rd party friendly controller. The GameCube may be awesome to us but not so much for the 3rd party devs.

    13. I agree with Reggie on the hardcore gamer thing . It’s really just a title these fps guys have given them self but in my eyes a hardcore gamer is someone who spend a lot more time playing many different games or spending much time on what Reggie said competitive smash bros.

    14. I will say this: those Pro controllers are dead sexy. Look even more comfortable than my lovely XBOX controller. I’d prefer concaved analogue sticks though, but whatever.

I’m optimistic the buttons/right-stick placement will work great though. I am forever getting cramped right hand from playing too long with the XBOX controller, simply because it starts off feeling natural to have the right-stick down low, but quickly gets crampy. Plus, the buttons aren’t used as much as the stick is, to it makes sense to have it level with the other most used part of the controller: the left-stick. Triggers and bumpers are used more than A B X Y anyway, especially for shooters

      1. Is it because the Wii had sold more than 95 million units worldwide? I wouldn’t call the Wii garbage. Instead, it was a sucess for that system… mostly first party titles and franchise characters.

      2. Yeah, when it comes to third party games, but when it comes to first party and second party…………. it’s a different story, ass-clown.

    15. Lulz reggie said wii we lol. Also appluse for admiting wii was garbage, i look foward after 5 yrs ya admiting ya messed up again and that wii u is garbage too

    16. @doonzaloog you truly are a delusional little slut. 3rd party scared to be dwarfed by shitendo lol bitch please more like shitendo forces tax on games and refuse to pay money until they might an unrealistic amount also ninty fags are morons..like u

    17. AWW HOW CUTE REGHIE GETS IRRITATED WILL SO DO I WHEN I COMPANY LIED ABOUT SPECS AND LIED ABOUT EARTHBOUND TWICE AND I HAVE TO DEAL WITH SHOVELWARE SMH REGGIE GROW SUM BALLS BITCH

      1. WHAT!? I CAN’T HEAR A WORD YOU ARE SAYING BECAUSE I CAN HEAR ANOTHER ANNOYING BUTT HURT BITCH SCREAMING…. OH THAT’S YOU!

NEXT TIME, DON’T FINGER THE CAPS LOCK KEY WHEN TRYING TO TYPE BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN ASS PIRATE

      2. u and the other earthbound fanboys dont know shit, reggie has no control over that, never has never will. the creator chose not to.
let mii prove it when has mother 4 came out.

    18. i don’t see why he “chafes” at that statement. its 100% true. the hardcore crowd abandoned the Wii. if it was HD from the start and had a decent online system, there wouldn’t be the need for the Wii U, yet.

      1. If that was all that it was. The Big 3 would’ve at least one gamer. It was getting stale and the Wii brought me back in. I was getting ready to be done either for good or for that generation. Wii gave me a sense of revival in my love for gaming.

      1. Yeah, that’s one of the reason I don’t like the “split” that seem to have appeared between those terms. Also because there are some gamers, including myself, that I would consider neither “casual” or “hardcore”, but something in between.

    19. regardless I had a blast with my wii and am having a blast still. hardcore is not about playing violent mature games. it’s about dedication to gaming period. I hate morons who classify playing those bullshit shooters as hardcore.

    20. So far, this doesn’t seem to be completely true. Not Black Ops 2 officially confirmed, no Dead Space 3, no Borderlands 2. I have a strong feeling that Star Wars 1313 won’t be coming to Wii U. I really hope more will be announced soon. I’m getting a little worried.

    21. The few franchises that I don’t know will be on the system that I want is an installment in the Okami series(perfect controller for Okami+great story+great gameplay+beautiful graphics and art style=Game of the year), Monster Hunter(one of the most hardcore series ever and it’d drive up sales in Japan, but the only problem is that it seems that everyone but Capcom wants it to be localized), and Battlefield(something to combat Call of Duty and its massive sales, please.)
