NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge For Wii U Arrives Nov. 18 With These Exclusive Features

When the revolutionary Wii U console launches across North America on Nov. 18, the lineup of available games will include a riveting action title with features unavailable on any other system. Nintendo has confirmed that NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge for Wii U will launch with new weapons and characters, a redesigned battle system and online multiplayer modes* that let fans savor the adventure together. The game is a powerhouse addition to what promises to be a spectacular software lineup for Wii U.

In NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge, the enigmatic warrior Ryu Hayabusa must fight to lift a curse that threatens to destroy him. Whereas the original NINJA GAIDEN 3 included only three weapons for players to choose from, this new version offers six weapons – Sword, Claws, Scythe, Dual Katana, Staff and Kusari-Gama – each with its own unique strengths. The number of available Ninpo has also been increased from one to three.

The following features and enhancements in NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge are exclusive to Wii U:

  • Ayane as a playable character: In previous versions of the game, Ayane appeared only briefly in one cut scene. Now players can help her progress through her own exclusive chapters using a special set of weapons and Ninpo attacks.
  • Character-progression system: Using Karma points earned during game play, players can upgrade weapons and Ninpo, learn new moves, increase their HP level and unlock new character costumes.
  • Ryu and Ayane playable in co-op mode: For the first time, players can use Ryu or Ayane to represent themselves in the game’s online co-op mode.
  • Test of Valor battle areas: Each chapter includes a hidden battle area called Test of Valor. Upon finding hidden Crystal Skulls, players will be transported to these areas to face down waves of enemies and classic NINJA GAIDEN boss characters with new moves.
  • Wii U GamePad Functionality: Using the Wii U GamePad, players can easily change weapons or Ninpo attacks, and also quickly reference the button inputs required for various combo attacks without ever stopping the action.
  • Additional Playable Characters: After the launch of the game, additional playable characters will become available as free downloadable content. More information about these characters will be revealed at a later time.
  • More Tenacious Enemies: The Wii U version of the game restores enemies’ ability to fight when severely wounded, requiring players to stay nimble with their battle strategies.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB.

          1. Yea but is kind of hard to explay my point so i give an. Exsample tentacle hentai game in japan are rated in the equivalent of T in japan,in the states it would get the Ao rating

          1. Im okay with that haha
Once WiiU hits, up until next year, i want to get, a WiiU (zombiu bundle), assassins creed, nintendoland, nsmbu, paper mario, a couple of motion plus controllers, a bunch of other launch games i can be bothered listing too, so im fine with it being delayed till next year xD

  1. Well… as opposed to the previous version, this sounds great. It should’ve been this way for both ps3 and 360 to begin with. Good to see that they can right their wrongs with this edition

  2. Wow, all of those features sound too good to pass this game up. Wish I had the cash, hopefully it’ll be something I’ll be playing for a long time, once I get around to it. That and the only NG game I ever played was Dragon Sword and I really enjoyed that. Plus free dlc characters, nice. Can’t wait to use Ryu or Ayane.

  3. Oh really? It’s rated “M”? You’ve gotta be pulling my leg(I’m being sarcastic, for those of you who couldn’t tell).

  4. I am so buying Razor’s Edge along with the Wii U. Team Ninja have DEFINTELY made a monstrous definitive version of the once flawed title for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A truckload of exclusive features and downloadable content at no additional cost. Nintendo needs to make more hardcore titles for the U and I’m sure we’ll look forward seeing more from Nintendo in the future including Bayonetta 2.

  5. I’m guessing it wouldn’t be possible to apply these changes to the PS3/360 versions since the game is published by Nintendo.

  7. I want to know the games that will be available on day one on the eShop. I wanted to get this, Black Ops 2, and Zombie U in download format, and AC 3 and DS 12 as retail discs.

    1. So far, the only third party publisher that’s releasing the digital download at the Wii U’s eShop is Namco-Bandai’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Wii U Edition. There’s a huge possibility that there will be more third party companies releasing both physical copies and digital downloads in the near future.
