The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Features, E3 Trailer

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will be released exclusively for Wii U in October. You’ll be able to play the entire game on your Wii U GamePad. And if you choose to play on the TV screen, you can use the Wii U’s 6.2-inch touch-screen controller to manage your inventory and maps. The remake boasts upgraded visuals – as seen in the above trailer – and brand-new features, which are listed below:

  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD features 1080p visuals that will immerse players in the game like never before.
  • With the Wii U GamePad controller, it’s easy to manage your inventory and view maps.
  • Players will enjoy cruising the open sea with a new sail that gives them 50 percent more speed, bringing them to their next destination and action-packed adventure that much faster.
  • Once players receive the “Tingle Bottle” item, they can connect with others by posting comments to Miiverse. Through this new feature, comments or screen shots posted on Miiverse will wash up on the shores of other players’ games. It’s like finding a message in a bottle.
  • Players can also take and store more pictures with an improved Pictograph and then post them on Miiverse.
  • If the television is already in use, this game can been played off-TV on the Wii U GamePad.

    1. I really couldnt tell the difference during the direct….it looks ok, i was expecting pixar quality….what they should us before looked better.

Now for the add ons….some are ok, but if Nintendo really listens to us, they would of added the cut dungeons

    2. i was at gametrailers and patcher was owned in the live stream by the site lol
patcher said wiiu was third but the site show a poll and nintendo is very close second to sony and microsoft is in last . mario kart and mario 3d are first and second on the poll.

  1. Didn’t confirm missing dungeons. Hmm.

It’ll be hard to convince myself to buy this if there’s no new content. The gameplay revisions are great but still….

    1. Well… I will buy this one, not just because I’m a Zelda fans, but because I missed out the original Wind Waker, I was planning to buy it and play it on my Wii, but then I heard about HD, so I give up and wait.

      1. I had it, but I never got to beat it. Now I get my shot with the HD version. The original is priced too high now of days, anyway.

  2. my question is will it support the pro controller? i don’t like always being forced to use the gamepad

    1. Hopefully there will be another direct for more unannounced/unconfirmed Wii U games.

    2. You are the the only 1 lol.go to gametrailesr to raise your spirit lol. sony and nintendo are duking it out evenly with microsoft crying in a courner lol.

      1. LOL! While at first I thought their presentation wasn’t too wonderful, I started to consider the opposite. Now my only problem is the release dates for most of the games.

  3. You forgot to mention that the D pad allows you to use items like the Wind Waker, Salvager and bombs at sea.

  4. True 1080p, more colorful characters, new gameplay mechanics using the Game Pad. The Wind Waker HD is gonna sell millions of copies on the Wii U and add even more units.

    1. That’s what I’m saying. The biggest improvement is going to be gamepad support…

  5. Is there a demo of this game available at gamestop tommorow? If so, someone go play it and report back with some valuable information =P

    1. you best buy????? the demos ARE aT BEST BUY!!!!!!!! do you anything!!!! (breathing hard) (grabs a gun) correct the mistake or else!!!!!!

        1. I think the Best Buys in america are the only ones getting the demos, I could be wrong though. I don’t see why not in UK.

  6. Looks the same as it did 10 years ago. Not interested in playing that again. Looks the same as I remember it except it in “HD”, same water effects, same audio, same everything.

    1. When you bitch about playing the original on down the road, I’ll be behind you to smack you in the back of the head. Not only that but not only is the GC version EXPENSIVE, but the tingle feature is pretty neat.

  7. i haft to say it looks the same they could have added new effects im still getting it tho

          1. After all of your trolling, it seems you wanted them to have a good E3. In which, it was great but an okay one. Good enough apparently for some people.

            1. yeah my wii u is only the biggest dust collector ever!!!!! thats the most expensive dust collector ever, thats not what i bought the system for. of course i wanted them to have a good e3.

    1. when even with the direct screw up gametrailers praise them then they are doing something good also nintendo games are in the top of the most wanted by fans in gametrailers rank

  8. The same game, looks the same, was expecting something better, ah, and the graphics during the combat seems toned down for some reason. Ah, poor Wii U.

    1. You must be some imbecile. Were you not paying attention at all or are you just fail trolling?

  9. the wii u is an utter disaster. this game to, they didnt even add anything worth whie, like missing islands, dungeons. is there any wii u pro support??????? really nintendo.

    1. I didnt expect them to add new dungeons. Going back to an old game and adding in new content is too much of a challenge for them. They would have to alter the whole story and sequence. At least they’re incorporating things like the ‘turbo’ sail as i like to call it. The tingle bottle is well uh..yeah, is there any point in it or is it just a gimmick.

I wonder what will happen with the gold tingle statues and tingles brother knuckle with the removal of the tingle tuner.

  10. so basically a different controller and hd graphics + faster sailing?..fail

..should have worked on a brandnew zelda

    1. There is one in the works, you must not pay attention…. Besides that explain how this is a fail? Would you like to pay 40 bucks to play an old game or get this one? The original WW is 40 something bucks if you try to find one.

    1. I think you meant to say… the empty sea. I too am kind of underwhelmed with this… the Tingle thing I could care less about but I was hoping the visuals would have been somewhat improved,
Still… I loved the game and its art style then and finished it as well. Will be picking it up to keep the dry spell occupied with it… as for the deleted content. Well, that was to be expected. It would have been nice to restore the missing content or fill in the empty vastness of the ocean with new things… “sigh”

  11. I don’t really see any major differences. And I knew I wouldn’t, because even the Gamecube version looked amazing. Probably the best graphics of any game on the Gamecube.

  12. Youtube degrades the video quality. Trust me there is a noticeable difference when you see the game in person. For anyone who is interested, I recommend watching the 13:40 length Wind Waker HD video on IGN’s website. That video is so much clearer, but if you watch the same video on IGN’s youtube account it looks a little blurred.
