Wii U Version Of Deus Ex Seems To Be The Most Expensive

deus_ex_human_defiance

The Wii U version of Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director’s Cut on Wii U is currently retailing for $49.99 at EB Games and Amazon. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the same game are retailing for $29.99. Whether this is just an error remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a little alarming that the former Wii U exclusive version is currently $20 more.

Thanks, Mike S

        1. A comment I made. You can’t see it because it’s being held for moderation. It put a huge picture/ad for the game when I was just trying to put a link. ;/

        2. whats that???? couldnt here you. (kids could you here that!!!) nnnoooo!!!!! WHAT????? where am i im cold!!!!! (he dad he said) WHAT WAS THAT…. im still cold!!!!! change me dipee, and get me a blamket, (nooo dad!!!) WHAT?????

            1. thanks for your concern but….. you cant be serious you gullible retard. (hey kids we got food!!!!) yeah im gonna get the pussy tonight from all the food i can bring home.

  1. To be honest, the game was pretty much in development on the Wii U for a while so I’m not surprised and I’m glad they are delaying it to fix up the bugs and framerate issues :)

        1. But everyone tells us Wii U is last gen?

But seriously, not buying this, since they’re delaying it for ps360 and charging more.

          1. Ah. Well, here the PS3/360 versions have been listed as $29.99 and Wii U $49.99 everywhere.

            So, we’ll see.

Still, the pound is worth more than the dollar. So £21 is equal to about $32 USD

  2. I planned to get this game but not with prices being like this. Gamepad features alone shouldn’t bump the price up so I wonder would could make it worth 20 bucks more than the other two remakes.

  3. Well, it’s easy to see why. This version of Deus Ex is simply an upgrade of the original Human Revolution. It’s cheaper on PS3/360 because those owners have already had the original game for a while now. Wii U hasn’t seen this game yet, and I’m pretty sure the revision was originally developed as a WiiU exclusive.

If they can bring in some sales from serious fans on the other two platforms while introducing Wii U owners to the Deus Ex experience and make a few extra bucks here or there, why not? It sucks, but I’ve come to expect publishing decisions like this since owning a Wii U.

  4. Really though seeing those other prices just makes me want to wait for a price drop. 10 bucks would have been more understandable but I just can’t look at those prices and get this game now.

    1. Just what I was thinking… It’s crazy the stuff they won’t post on here, and yet they ran with two of these.

    2. OMG a Sonydrone remembered something from last week? If you can still remember Nintendo’s new Ip two weeks from today, I’ll be amazed.

  5. And people wonder why Nintendo fans don’t buy third party games. They burned us so many times to the point where we just don’t trust them anymore.

    1. I’m a bit confused of who is getting more screw at least for wiiu they had people working on it and thinking.

  6. Well, I will certainly buy it.
    .
    .
    .
    For 20-30 euros.
It just doesnt have priority over Nintendo’s games, but I want to build up a backlog for future droughts anyway.
Why do all those games have to come out when Nintendo is squeezing out game after game, but for the first half of this year, when the WiiU received all that hate, doom and gloom for it’s lack of games, there was NOTHING, only canceled projects….

  7. Amazon allways guess the price of things. If you preorder it for £50 and they sell it for lets say £35. That’s what you pay for it. Anywho, the Wii U is a next gen console. So the price of some games are going to be higher.

    1. Why?

Don’t you dare to say “development cost” because PS4 games require the same amount of momey as a 7th gen console but with better results.

Also Metro Last Light is a game that looks noticably better than a lot of other (PC) games BUT it’s budget was just a fraction of other games’ cost.

      1. well you have to consider that metro last light was developed under almost desolate conditions.. even for a country where wages already are fairly low

but i agree that a lot of the cost of the previous gen console titles would most likely stem from countless optimizations which now the developers won’t have to do
        at least for a while
until they reach the limit of the hardware capabilities once again

  8. well we are getting the touch controls so as long as this version is good ill fork up 50 bucks hell its better than 60 its something about that 60dollar price tag

  9. If i have extra money this year im gonna get this, although i bought it from psn for somethin like 5e few months ago. This year is so full of games for 3ds and Wii U, i just cant support every game that i want to. This is great game indeed but again its old port and those who have other consoles may not want to bother with it simply because of gamepad upgrades. Im more excited about Wii u version of Splinter Cell blacklist which seems to use gamepad in lots of cool ways.

  11. Maybe because other consoles already have the original version. 30$ to upgrade, 50$ on Wii U because it’s the first version. Makes sense?

    1. yeah.. no
you don’t upgrade for 30$ you get the full game for 30$.. on every platform
      except for the wii U

if this pricing is correct of course

  12. I can’t be the only one who noticed that the picture in this article is for the April Fools prank Deus Ex: Human Defiance, and not the Wii U game, Deus EX: Human Revolution Director’s Cut.

  13. Now , this game will obliviously not sell well for the wii u and the developers will not bring the sequel to the wiiu saying due to “disappointing sales” of the first game .. they decided not to bring it over… JUST LIKE EVERYONE OUT THERE!!!!

  14. someone u probably don't know

oh, come on!!! it’s not a mistake the only possible mistakes where 7,1 and 5, so it will be or 59.99, 79.99 or 19.99

  15. People want to play dumb in thinking that developers working on more powerful consoles don’t need more money to work to get thos graphcs those graphics whores always wanted. Its like why the hell would a 2015 Lexus LS be cheaper than the 2013? Yet if they don’t put the technology that people want in thses consoles, people bitch.

    1. better graphics and improved/more demanding code are easier and thus more cost efficient to implement on more capable hardware with more ram available

part of the reason why last gens titles were so ridiculously expensive to develop is the huge amount of optimization and tricks that went into the games to make them look good despite of the lack of hardware resources
if you have more resources available you don’t need to do that

so yes it stands to reason that it would actually be easier to implement those new features on the wii U than it would be, say, on the xbox 360

  16. the wii u……. you were abused ever since you came out, with bullshit like delaying finished games and with old ports, being way more expensive than other versions. why would we buy bullshit like this!!!!! you know i guess they just dont want to develop games for a vacuum cleaner. after all this abuse it goes through it still dusts my house, thank you wii u. inwiiuwedust……

    1. Ignoring Pikmin3 just released and is about to arrive in the States in 6 days. Also ignoring the new Ip. And ignoring that the Wii U games operate off the gamepad. Lastly ignoring that PS4 and Xboxone’s software will also be more expensive than PS3 or 360’s. yet you rather play dumb in thinking that didnt happen.

    2. so on one hand you identified the problem: 3rd party developers shunning the console, but on the other hand you blame it on the wii U as a console? makes zero sense

if anything blame it on nintendo who were late to the show with their first party titles
but the console itself is just fine

  17. Also even if PS4 is using 4.5gigs, people want to act like that much RAM isn’t enough. Ignoring Wii U has one gig. Yet at the same time PS4 does more. What they thought those extra features were RAM free? Yet if u google “Ps4” not as many journalist are putting that type of info. Yet more journalist are putting as much bad about the Wii U as much as possible.

    1. my OS currently uses 3.5 gigs of ram

that is with a full blown windows 7 operating system (the ps4 only has a very stripped down OS, like any console does) including superfetch which reserves about 500-700MB of RAM for the most frequently used programs, including firefox running with 70 tabs open (that alone is worth 1.5 gigs) and including about half a dozen smaller programs/tools running in the background.. so please tell me what amount of software would the PS4 run to need 3.5 GB(!) for the operating system and applications?

i’m still hoping however that this is just a rumor

and no 4.5 GB would not be enough
some developers were already claiming that even the full 8GB would not be enough to last til the start of the next gen and i am willing to agree..
especially with 64bit optimized games now likely to be released… 64bit software requires more space in memory for the same amount of content (so that alone will inflate the size of game assets inside the memory) but at the same time can also utilize more space which has been a limitation for 32bit games for years

no one said the wii Us memory is enough but i think everyone gave up the pretense of the wii U winning this gens hardware race a long time ago

  18. Maybe because the graphical upgrades weren’t able to be put on PS3\Xbox 360 version, but only on Wii U. Also AI might be significantly revamped on the Wii U version because of the higher horsepower compared to PS3/Xbox 360 versions. Plus the gamepad intigration?

    1. Yeah will Sonydrones have a bad memory. Certainly you don’t think they’ll rember all that in one night. By next week, they’ll bring up Nintendo needs new Ips. Watch when Pikmin 3 arrives, they’ll bring up something else negative that Nintendo alreaaady anwered.

      1. Pikmin 3 has arrived basically already. And it’s not a new IP, an amazing sequel though.

I can’t believe Nintendrones are trying to justify a price like this (even though it’s already been proven false) you should be complaining.

  19. if its a error the fine but what angers me is the give us a old port and when the game does not sell well stop making games for the system

  20. Rented this game on Xbox and it was amazing. Would never buy it for 50 dollars tho even if I didn’t finish it nothing can justify that price point for me unless its a brand new game. For 30 I would pick it up day one tho maybe even 40.

  21. I’m betting all these price related articles for Wii U versions of a game are all false period…

  22. With all this being said, I do plan on getting Deus Ex HR on Wii U still. It looks like an amazing game, especially on Wii U with all the improvements. I played it on PS3 when I still had Plus and had an awesome time. With all the improvements, it sounds like it’s worth the extra price compared to the other consoles.

Which leads me to something I’ve noticed about a lot of Nintendo fans; most say that they want more third-party support on the system to keep it alive, but then complain about things like pricing, and release timing in comparison to first-party titles. If you want third parties to keep supporting Wii U, just buy their games. If not, still shut up and move on. People complain about petty stuff like that all the time then wonder why third-parties aren’t supporting the console.
