Nintendo has been tight-lipped for the past few months concerning the latest Art Academy release for Wii U. In fact, it was earlier this year during E3 that Nintendo revealed the popular artistic app would be hitting the home console in October 2014 – as a tentative date – with a new trailer to boot. But now that the spooky season has passed, it’s certainly a little eerie that we haven’t heard any passing murmurs on a solid release date.
It’s with that in mind that a few NeoGAF members recently discovered Nintendo had quietly pushed back Art Academy’s release date on its official website. Both Nintendo of America and Nintendo UK’s site are now anticipating a 2015 release for the drawing app – considerably later than planned. Unlike Art Academy: Sketchpad – which was a smaller version of the main series and released in 2013 – the new version will include in-depth art lessons for the amateur to the professional. Hopefully we’ll hear confirmation of a 2015 release window from Nintendo soon.
