Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Version 1.1 Update Available Now

Nintendo has released a new update for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Version 1.1 is available to download now in the Nintendo eShop in both North America and Europe, despite the game’s November 28 release date for the latter region. With no official word on exactly what the update entails other than “various bug fixes”, we’ll just have to sit tight for now.

For those in North America, make sure you download the update data for the version you currently own as they are separate downloads for both Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Version 1.1 will require 271 blocks to download onto an SD card. Just a few days ago, Nintendo also released the latest update version for Pokemon Bank, so if you have yet to download the app you can do so in the eShop now.

  1. i learned the hard way when i got x&y (my first pokemon game) and discovered the save bug that ruined my 20 hour save file… here we are again with game breaking bugs in pokemon games, its not worth my time when they cant release a finished game. so i am done with pokemon games forever.

    1. how u play 20 hours till lumiose ? were u collecting every single item and pokemon ? or did u go back there for no reason whatsoever ?

    2. Didn’t the following patch unfreeze all such stuck games, or did you jump to reseting right away? They released a fix pretty fast, that I remember. Not so game breaking because of that, in my opinion.

Finding bugs takes time, and even then there’s no guarantee. (What game doesn’t have a bug or a glitch of some sort?) A gift and a curse of this current period is that updates exist, and I’m sure that does affect the testing and release process to some extent. As games become more complex, bugs are going to get more difficult to find.

On the bright side, you can just wait out some time and pick up the game after a month or two. No better test than having millions of players have at it, for sure.

I wouldn’t let one mishap ruin something fun, no more than letting one jerk ruin your whole day. But you know, it’s up to you what you play and what you spend your money on. I’ve been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue, so I can’t imagine letting go of the whole series for that. But that’s me.

  2. I can’t seem to find where to download the update. Can some one please walk me through the steps and I’ll give you one of my good pokémon
