The hunt is about to begin, as Capcom’s Monster Hunter Generations will launch in Europe on 15th July, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS family systems. Fans eager for this latest instalment of the multi-million-selling action-RPG will have the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in the adventure with the New Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter Generations Edition, also launching on the same day.

The New Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter Generations Edition comes in a striking red colour and features artwork of the game’s Fated Four, an elite group of powerful monsters. In addition, this hardware also includes Monster Hunter Generations pre-installed on a 4GB microSD card. Players can get straight into the action as soon as possible, and enjoy the C Stick functionality only available on New Nintendo 3DS systems.
With the new Prowler game mode and revisions to help newcomers, Monster Hunter Generations is the most accessible entry in the series yet and the ideal jumping-on point for beginners. The new Prowler mode, where players can directly control one of the game’s Felyne characters, allows newcomers to get straight into the action of hunting and gathering without feeling overwhelmed. Prowlers enjoy simplified mechanics for gathering items and enjoy their own unique attacks and combos, making them a great learning tool for anyone starting out on their Monster Hunter journey. Any of the game’s single or multiplayer quests can be enjoyed in Prowler mode, allowing players of all skill levels, whether playing as a Hunter or Prowler, to hunt together. See more of Monster Hunter Generations and its new accessible features, including Prowler Mode, in action in the A Brand New Type of Hunter Trailer premiering today.
Monster Hunter Generations allows players to take on a variety of unique monsters in over 20 different hunting locations, either solo or in local and online multiplayer modes. By collecting items from their hunts, players can craft more powerful weapons and armour, allowing even more dangerous quests to be taken on. With the choice of four different Hunting Styles and spectacular Hunter Arts special moves to equip, Monster Hunter Generations is the most customisable Monster Hunter experience yet. Players will also be able to get a taste of Monster Hunter Generations before launch, when a playable demo is released on Nintendo eShop this summer.

Sonic Generations?
“The New Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter Generations Edition comes in a striking red colour”
ok so thisn’t like that black & blue/ gold & white dress thing from the internet like a year ago is it? Cause I am totally seeing that as a BLUE 3DS.
The Japanese one was red, so maybe it was just a typo on their part? Or maybe the Blue one is some sort of retailer exclusive that they accidentally used the picture of instead of the red one?
NOA posted the blue one on twitter…
NoA gets blue we get red :)
oh now i see the red one, i guess you added the picture into the article. that really is striking, you guys got the good one lol ^^
Can you post an article specifically for the special edition consoles please?
I put 500 hours into mh4u
Now I get to give capcom my precious life source again….
Goodbye world
please add water battles cashcom then maybe i’ll respect you guys a bit. I loved the abyssal lagi and ceadaus battles
Many seasoned hunters did not like fighting underwater. My first mission was assigned on Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii. I preferred the freedom given by water to land. Even with the strange Wii controls.
i found the controls easy and preferred the water based battles as it mixed things up and added variety plus the abyssal lagiacrus, and Cedeuas were brilliant fights i really want to experience that again
To this day MH3U remains my favorite MH game, simply because of the water element. It wasn’t just the battles, but how immersive it made the maps. I found the maps in MH4U way less fun to explore. Also the first time fighting the Lagiacrus is still my favorite MH experience. Diving deep under the ocean fighting, fighting on land, and then chasing him underwater to his den, which was an air pocket at the deepest part of the ocean and finishing him off there.. Simply amazing…. Very few fights live up to that one…. Honestly no fights live up to that one….Mh3U is the definitive game in the series no doubt.
Really need to power through G3 rank in MH4U now.
I’ll only be getting this if we can get to the hunting directly without the horrible tutorials. I can only stomach mushroom-fetching and jaggi-slaying so many times without dropping the game entirely. It was a bore in 3, a chore in 4 and just unacceptable in this one, especially when taking into account that the Freedom Unite games let you skip them.
What? You don’t like the Wyvern Egg delivery quests? You didn’t like the Egg quest where the Tigrex and Brute Tigrex are trolling you while you are trying to deliver the eggs? Or that Jaggia quest where Deviljo keeps showing up?
