    1. At least Nights made it on the list, how the F!@# did Shinobi NOT make it on the list!? That game was one of the, if not biggest, pillar IPs owned by Sega. That franchise is just as much of a classic as Streets of Rage. Sega is f!@#$%^ up smfh:/

  1. I seriously knew absolutely nothing about Sakura Wars prior to just now and had to google it, and watching youtube clips of the game and anime confimed that I don’t remember ever seeing anything relating to it before.

… but I guess never localized stuff will be like that.

  2. The fact that so little want a new Streets of Rage revival is a damn shame. It was definitely one of the best Genesis titles I’ve ever played. What’s more sad is Billy Hatcher not being in the Top 10.

Oh well, at least Jet Set Radio, Virtua Fighter, and Panzer Dragon are high on the list. Kudos on Sakura Wars being the winner. The first through fourth games need to be fucking localized if Sega wants to take advantage of this.

And are those Shenmue fans NOT aware of Shenmue III already happening? What more do they want, HD ports of the first two games?

      1. Now that sounds like a good idea. Many detractors would say a 3D game would be shit like Final Fight Streetwise and some things are better of staying in the past, but there are good 2D artists out there that would stay true to the games’ original style. Arc System Works are a perfect match for Streets of Rage.

    1. Consider this:
there was more than 20 choices in their poll list, Streets of Rage wasn’t even listed in.
And SEGA has tons of old franchises that didn’t get new games and were potential candidates.

So the fact that Streets of Rage made it to this top 10 is actually good if you ask me.

  3. Ouch, Billy Hatcher and a lot Genesis era IP’s took a serious hit in popular requests. Well at least Streets of Rage barely made it. But seeing Skies of Arcadia being there makes me happy. Sure the game is far from popular, but it shows that people would still like a sequel to that Dreamcast classic. GG Jet Set Radio for being the second most wanted. We need more rudie rollin’, paint sprayin’, cops fightin’, dance breakin’ action in our lives.

Congrats on Sakura Wars being Number One though. With how Fire Emblem is today, I feel that Sega can really capture that market easily if they retool the gameplay a bit and keep the visual novel dating sim aspects. Really shows that the name Sakura Shinguji never died in Japan.

LOL at Segata Sanshiro being the most beloved character there. He is truly a legend. But Eggman beating most Sonic characters on the list is a shocker.

  4. I would have voted for Jet Set Radio for sure. Oh well. I’m surprised by Sakurai Wars. I feel like I may have purchased a Sakurai Wars games for the Wii… but I don’t remember playing it or keeping it. I may have not been into it. It felt like one of those Japanese dating sim games lol I think. No thanks.

  5. Congrats to Sakura Wars. What I saw of the characters from that franchise in Project X Zone 2 was interesting. I’d love a game that focuses on supernatural versions of Feudal Era characters like Nobunaga being villainous demons.
