The Harvest Moon franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and Natsume was at E3 to promote its next title in the brand, Harvest Moon: Light Of Hope. However, one question asked by VentureBeat was not related to Harvest Moon, but about other farming simulator games, such as Stardew Valley. CEO Hiro Maekawa fully supports them, giving multiple reasons for feeling this way. Here’s what Maekawa said about the matter:
“It’s a good thing that there are several farming simulations sold to users and consumers. They have several choices,” Maekawa said. “Not only that, but that means we can expand the genre of farming simulations. That’s good for the game industry in general. That’s my way of thinking.”
I’d like to see farming simulators crossed with other genres and themes. A farming simulator with RPG elements, perhaps.
…so Rune Factory? ;)
Is there a farming simulator/racing game? It’d be hilarious if we suddenly got an announcement for a new F-Zero, and then it turned out to be a farming game.
Captain Falcon tends to his crops, feeds his chickens, enters the local race, all while wooing the local ladies.
If they wanted farming games on Nintendo, WHERE IS “HARVEST MOON: SEEDS OF MEMORIES” for the WiiU? MORE BROKEN PROMISES!!! CHECK OUT: nintendoskip.com!!
If they were’t supportive I’d be crying foul what with how they are using the “Harvest Moon” name.

}{ Let’s be careful here though… We don’t need everyone and his mother making these games, like what they do with Minecraft clones these days… }{
