Big Minecraft Update Hitting Nintendo Switch And Wii U This Evening

The team over at Mojang and Microsoft have confirmed that Minecraft owners should expect a large update to the immensely popular game later this evening. The new update brings with it a tonne of new features including a brand new UI engine. The update is rolling out now to all platforms with the Nintendo Switch and Wii U expected to receive it sometime this evening. Here’s the details as provided by the development team:

  • 7 new Achievements/Trophies
  • New UI engine (saving significant memory – which should boost performance!)
  • Llamas
  • Parrots
  • Woodland Mansion
  • Treasure Maps
  • Observer Block
  • Totem of Undying
  • Illagers! Vindicator, Vex and Evoker!
  • ‘Bouncy’ Beds
  • Dyeable beds
  • Option to change Biomes size to match other platforms (since they are smaller on console by default)

You can read more about the company’s plans in this post.
