Nintendo Switch System Update Available

Nintendo Switch owners should see that there’s now a new update available to download on their system. The update brings it to version 3.0.1. This particular update addresses system stability but it also fixes an issue where the remaining battery charge can’t be displayed accurately. The update should update automatically to your system but if not you can go into settings and manually prompt it to update.

Improvements Included in Version 3.0.1

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including:

  • Addressed an issue in which the remaining battery charge can’t be displayed accurately
    • If the system’s battery power display suddenly increases or decreases, it will gradually improve by following these steps.

      1. Not really minor when after an hour it goes from 100 percent to 1 percent and hangs on 1 percent for an additional 1.5 – 2 hours. That minor glitch makes it hard to play and take care of the battery that isn’t replaceable by the owner.

  1. I wish they’d update it so the Switch can be properly shut off from the Joy-Cons or Pro Controller. Every time I shut the Switch off, I have to hold the power button on the console itself. Which is a real pain. I don’t want to leave it in sleep mode 24/7.

    1. They – want you to leave it in sleep mode 24/7, which is why they made the proper shutdown less convenient.

      Primarily in order to keep downloading the “news” for display on the wakeup screen, though it’s also used for other things.

      They’ve come a long way since GBA, DS and 3DS sleep modes; this one actually lives for long peiods of time in sleep while retaining enough charge for use – and when docked/asleep it spends so little power it’s not even worth noting – but the fact remains you gotta go through the motions to turn it all the way off.

  2. Ridley X3 {R.I.P. Chester Bennington of Linkin' Park. Thank you for the awesome music. You will be missed. *cries*}

    I won’t need to update my Switch til I get around to play Super Mario Odyssey on my Switch so I’ll leave it put up til then.
