Every year, SEGA holds a Sonic panel at SXSW to make announcements and answer questions from fans. Unfortunately, this year will be an exception. With SXSW 2020 cancelled, there was a lot of speculation on what SEGA would decide to do with their Sonic panel announcements. Well, the official Sonic Twitter has announced that “we’re working hard to bring our Sonic Panel content to you all in a new format this April”. We don’t know what this “new format” will be, but the theory that fans are proposing the most is that they will go a similar route to Nintendo and do a “SEGA Direct” or “Sonic Direct”. Whenever we get more information, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, the Sonic Twitter’s tweet is down below.
We're sad to see SXSW cancel, but we respect the call and we're working hard to bring our Sonic Panel content to you all in a new format this April!

Given the fact that coronavirus is closing every single event it’s not a suprise that people is going to do some sort of direct.
Well, April is my birthday, So, whatever this new format is, I’m looking forward for the future of Sonic somewhere in April. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/9db19f7a-3b2a-4e4d-8924-7ad3b94e34a3
