Pokemon Scarlet & Violet update coming tomorrow

logo for Pokemon adventure Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been out for a little while now, but it became clear rather quickly that the quality of the newest generation of Pokemon games depends on who you’re talking to. Nevertheless, one thing that has been heavily criticized has been performance issues and bugs.

Well, it seems that Nintendo has heard the feedback. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be getting an update tomorrow, and the patch notes have already been released. The patch notes also contain an apology from Nintendo for the issues that players have encountered, and the company mentions that they “take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games”.

  • Season 1 of Ranked Battles will kick off, allowing you to enjoy Ranked Battles through the Battle Stadium.
  • An issue has been fixed that caused the music to not play correctly during the battles with the Elite Four and the Top Champion in the Victory Road path.
  • Other select bug fixes have been made.
  • We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games’ performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.

  1. I’ve encountered multiple bugs, like the game hard locked on the main menu when it says press “A” to continue it wouldn’t do anything. Experienced a similar bug in game when i couldn’t control the character or open any menu. All the trouble shooting techniques suggest Power Cycling, doing a hard reset and making sure the game has the most recent update and you have the most recent system software update.

Also encountered a glitch in the game software, a notification saying an error has occurred the game will now close and then it asked if i wanted to report the problem to a 3rd party.

Hopefully they work out all the bugs and glitches. I’ve read where players games will usually hard lock when in a town but the games perfectly fine when in free roam exploring. That was the case for me, ended up doing a hard reset and Power Cycling and it resolved the issue.

  2. I’ve been running into a few crashes but thankfully nothing of huge concern because of the autosave function saving so frequently. Biggest concern I had was when I was stuck on a wall in area zero and couldn’t descend, jump, or even open a menu to call a fly taxi, and I was afraid that I’d be stuck like that after having no choice but to reset the game. If it wasn’t for all of these problems I’d say the games are better than gens 6 – 8 honestly.

  3. Well, better late than never. I hope this fixes most or all of the major issues. I guess some of the harmless funny stuff can stay, but for the love of Arceus, FIX THE LOW FRAMERATES FOR NPCS. The trashy strolling is an eyesore!!

  4. Its funny how they claim they listen to fans. Every 2 year old who would of tested the game, could say that this game is full of bugs and cant be released. But they released it anyway, knowing there is an absurd amount of bugs and charged full price for it! Now they listen? They knew this would come all along, they made the fans their game testers and made them pay for it. This amount of disrespect is something nintendo is excelling at.
LUCKILY the zelda crew is not under deadlines pressure which allows them to give the full love and respect for the game and by doing so giving love and respect to the fans. Pokemon should simply do the same.
That said I loved nintendo all my life and it wont change I guess…

  5. Honestly, Idc anymore. I haven’t bought a single PKMN game (main & side games) since 2017/18 with Ultra Sun. Since giving up on Star Wars after Rise of Palpatine, it’s actually easier to break the habit (cue the Linkin’ Park song) & move on from franchises that disappoint me. (TLJ was the last time I spent money on Disney’s Star Wars. Thx for killing Snoke, Rian. /s) Sw/Sh & Sc/V have killed my interest, for the most part.

I might still buy games with a strong focus on Eevee, though, but that’s it. (I’ll get Let’s Go, Eevee! eventually. Hopefully when it’s on discount in the eShop. Yeah. Right. That’ll be the fuckn day! Lulz) Anyway, I’m out!

(I hope the video posts in the comment. Otherwise, joke bloody ruined.)

    1. Personally, Ive only had 1 crash so far. And I’m about 20 hours in. Low frame rate is constant, but no other bug. Maybe in just that lucky. That being said. I haven’t had this much fun with a Pokemon game in years. Ive played them all, and the last one that wow’d me like this was G/S/C. Like I said, I’m about 20 hours in, and I only have 3 badges. My only gripe with it (other than the obvious) is that it’s becoming harder and harder to make my main team. I keep finding Pokemon that I replace older Pokemon in my team. But that’s a good problem, right? Lol

      1. I’m glad people can still enjoy it. If something makes us happy, we should enjoy it while it lasts. (Or before some ninny ruins it.) This has been a long time coming, honestly. I almost skipped the B/W generation. I got one of the sequel versions & retroactively got one of the originals. I think it was after X/Y pulled me back in. But GF continued to do the same thing over & over & over again. Add awesome feature. Remove it from next generation. Among other things. OR/AS was the height of PKMN for me. Least I can (maybe) pass my 802 to my son one day. (A positive.) Except my Eevee & her children. All my Eeveelutions are offspring of Jennifer. Who I named after my ex-wife. Even Jennifer was an off-spring of a previous Eevee I owned. They’re gonna be mine for as long as I can help it. Lulz Sc/V is just too little, too late.
