There were a number of highly-anticipated games revealed during this month’s Nintendo Direct presentation including the magical Super Mario Bros. Wonder and a remake of the beloved Super Nintendo game, Super Mario RPG, revealed amongst others. The majority of the games are now available to pre-order on the Nintendo eShop and subsequently their file-sizes have been revealed. Here’s some of the big ones:
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder: 4.5GB
- Detective Pikachu Returns: 10.0GB
- Super Mario RPG: 8.0GB
- Star Ocean: The Second Story R: 13.7GB
- WarioWare: Move It: 1.5GB

Just would like to note that Super Mario Bros. Wonder is listed twice here and Super Mario RPG is not at all. For those wondering, the SMRPG remake is 8GB.

Surprised at the size of Detective Pikachu returns! Was the size of the original also large?
Around 1.5GB.
Ooooh, star ocean is big! I’m excited for it!
Considering the environments are full 3d I’m not surprised at the file size. I too am excited for it.
Looks fun and worth looking forward to for the new Mario version
Mario is always fun to play with.
I’m glad to see that you have a unique way of writing the post. Now it’s easy for me to understand the idea and put it into practice

thanks for sharing these file sizes! It’s always good to know how much space I’ll need, especially for big games like Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the Super Mario RPG remake. Seeing Detective Pikachu Returns at 10GB is interesting too. Good stuff!!
