Eternal Darkness was a cult classic horror title for the Nintendo GameCube and many have been calling for an HD release for years. One person who wants to make this reality is Nightdive Studios CEO, Stephen Kick, who said in a recent video that Eternal Darkness is one of the games at the top of his list for the HD remaster treatment, saying he would “love to see get rereleased.”
“I will say that there’s another game really high on that list, and that would have to be Eternal Darkness. It’s been kinda locked behind the GameCube/Nintendo wall all this time, and it’s something that I would personally love to see get rereleased.”
Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!

Would be fine with a more basic port but this would be dope. I will go nuts if anything is ever announced.
Imagine doing something like the Resident Evil 2 remake treatment… Would buy it in a heartbeat
No thanks. 👎 Don’t want a basically completely different game, which almost completely lost the atmosphere and style of the original.
Complaints like this are so exaggerated, it’s silly. It was very faithful to the original. If you expected a remake to be 1:1 with the original, that’s your own baffling mistake.
I have been wanting this for years
That’s debatable. I, personally, strongly disagree. 🤷♂️
C’mon, imagine playing with those tank controls and fixed cameras today, it would be a waste of possibilities. the games are already pretty faithful in “spirit – vision” ( don´t know how else to put it) and gameplay.
Personally I prefer the original RE2. It’s my favorite RE game (got A Rank on it recently). RE2MAKE is fantastic in its own right, but the original does the whole A/B scenario better, and the controls add an extra level of tension. But to each their own!
Lol, you are completely right about the tension with the old controls. felt like when you have a nightmare/dreaming and cannot turn fast enough. Good times.
Nintendo might do it. Maybe not with Nightdive but rumors have been there for a while.
I have been asking for this (or a new entry) for decades.
