Fans of Minecraft have been patiently waiting for the announced Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game and judging from a recent change the release could be very soon. When Minecraft is now played on the Nintendo Switch it’s now listed as Minecraft for Nintendo Switch on the system’s Home Screen, suggesting that the Nintendo Switch 2 version is just around the corner.
Please have mouse control. It would be the best thing this upgrade could do.

Hope its a free upgrade. I felt scammed for purchasing Minecraft on Switch. It shouldn’t even be for sell and wish Mojang and Nintendo could get in legal trouble for it. It’s unplayable long-term.
Uhh, what do you mean you can’t play it in the future? It’s a single player game with online multiplayer. Heck, I played a ton of Minecraft on Wii U for fun in late 2024, and it worked even after the online servers shut down.
And the Switch 2 version will look identical to the OG Switch version. It may run better. Cosmetically, it will look the same. Regardless, I will play it on Switch 2 and enjoy it.
I meant, physically, the game breaks the longer you play it and I mean breaks to where you can’t play it. Minecraft on the original Switch doesn’t run properly. You play the same world for a few weeks and the games breaks so bad that you physical can’t play. Three minute loafing screens appear for opening doors, chests, and menus, mobs freeze, chunks dont load, frames drop to a few frames per minute. It’s Horrible. Servers are horrible too on switch. Its not acceptable at all. They never ever fixed things.
His right Frost, Minecraft Bedrock on Switch is the worst version of the game ever released. I got robbed for purchasing a physical copy. It only runs decent in new worlds, once you explore and start building (Not even using farms) it becomes unplayable.
OH MY GOSH, YOUR RIGHT. I just searched up some gameplay of the new version of minecraft on switch and it’s a mess! I haven’t played that version in a while. I thought you were refering to the original version of minecraft on switch that ran pretty well.
Minecraft Nintendo Switch Addition was from 4J and ran really great. Then it got replaced by Minecraft bedrock. It runs slightly better on Switch 2 but not much. The Switch 2 Addition should fix many things but analysis videos still show it’ll have the lowest render distance and more of all modern ports. I think Mojang could do better but they don’t want to.
It looks like the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Minecraft may be launching soon, and fans are excited to see the game optimized for the new console.
The Switch 2 Edition could definitely be a nice upgrade, especially if it improves performance and loading times. Minecraft is one of those games that benefits a lot from smoother gameplay, so I’m curious to see how much better the new version actually feels. I’ve also been following FoldCraftLaunch as an interesting way to play Minecraft on different devices.
