Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo Is Sure There’s An Appetite For Star Fox 64 3D

Nintendo’s UK marketing assistant for DS Rebecca Archer has told trade publication MCV that the company believes that there is ‘an appetite’ amongst gamers for Star Fox 64 3D. Nintendo are clearly hoping this re-release is going to be a big sales hitter for the company. Is everyone excited to play one of Fox McCloud’s greatest adventures in 3D?

“Lylat Wars (StarFox 64) has sold over 180,000 units in the UK. The game features in the Nintendo Power’s ‘Top 200 Nintendo Games Ever’ so I definitely think there is consumer appetite for an updated re-release, as the original title was so popular.”

  1. So will it be called Star Fox 64 or Lylat Wars in Europe? I don’t know if I ever finished it but I do remember getting the Rumble Pak with it. :)

  2. I can’t wait for starfox 64 3d and I’m glad it is a remake since I didn’t play the original, hope It is as good of a remake as Ocarina of Time 3D

  3. Cant wait to play this. The gyroscopic controls look pretty cool.Star Fox is such a good series, but I wish this would’ve been a launch title.

    1. Don’t buy it then…I welcome the 64 remakes because I haven’t played them in years and never on a handheld and never with updated graphics in 3d…also your getting 3 brand new 1st party games by the end of the year so stop crying

  5. I think they should keep making remakes of all of the classic and best N64 games with a few new ones for the console! They would make a lot of money.

    1. not really man. Gotta remember, people who actually played these games when the came out the 1st time and know just how good they are will get them again. Everyone else? Prolly not so much, unless one of those core gamers tells them about it. Besides, you can only do so many good remakes…

      1. Why wouldn’t you want to play a highly rated game that you’ve never played? I hope they keep re-making them, because i’ve never played them, and i hear how great they are.

  6. Wasn’t the original N64-version very short? I remember it being very “Arcade”-like, where you play to you beaten it, and then you had to start over again.

And it has no Wifi, so there’s a little too less replay-value for me, I’m afraid…

  7. i hate the name Lylat Wars… Thnak god they changed it back to the name it was supposed to have in the first place in Europe… Stupid copyrights nobody ever used…

  8. I wasn’t that fussed about getting Starfox643D until I actually bought a 3DS and saw the 3D first hand for myself, and now, imagining the possibilities, Starfox643D seems too exciting an opportunity to pass up! It’s gonna be amazing in 3D! I can’t wait to pick it up :)

    Do a barrel roll!

  9. I would rather have a brand new Starfox game in the style of StarFox 64. I’ve beaten the original and VC version hundreds of times, I can beat the red path in about 40 minutes, and I don’t have any friends with 3DS’s so the lack of online multiplayer really doesn’t help.

  10. I don’t mind remakes, especially since I haven’t played most of the remakes Nintendo made originally. I definitely want to see more N64 remakes. :)

  12. I’m definitely getting a copy. The gyroscope feature sounds AWESOME and I love it in Ocarina of Time 3D. I wouldn’t mind more of these remakes, especially if they find a way to make use of the gyroscope.
