Nintendo Wii U: Sega Praises Wii U Hardware

Gary Dunn, director of European development for Sega, firmly believes that the Wii U is a “good platform to develop for”. Dunn also told online gaming publication Eurogamer that Sega aren’t simply looking to port their existing franchises across to Nintendo’s new system, but are interested in creating new, original content that will fully utilise the systems unique controller. What would you love to see Sega bring to the Wii U?

“We wouldn’t [do that]. Clearly the new control mechanic allows some asymmetrical gameplay which we’re quite excited about – to leverage that when we’re looking to put any game on that system.”

  1. Looking to fully utilize the new controller is exactly what i was hoping developers would do. im sure nintendo loves the sound of that!

  2. They are making a Shinobi game for the 3DS already.

I would like an RPG using their CANVAS engine. Something similar to Valkyrie Chronicles. They haven’t really used that engine in the same way, so it would be perfect to use it now instead of making a totally different thing.

  3. I Want MadWorld: Reborn! (Sounds good, isn’t it?) but i do like them to don’t forget about wii motion plus device.. It has to be used again to demonstrate it ful potential. Developers will focus on WiiPad, but i hope soon enough they regain the love for the Wii motion plus! Skyward Sword will teach’em xD

  5. i know that sega mentioned that they don’t want to port any of their games over to the wii U, but i’d still like to see anarchy reigns, bayonetta, virtua fighter 5 final showdown, vanquish.

but if they can come up with something fresh, unique but of which will suit the console and will interest owners, then that’ll be great.
