In a surprising turn of events the Pokemon Company has decided to team up with acclaimed horror manga artist Junji Ito. The collaboration between the two companies is titled “Kowapoke,” or “Scarypoke.” The Pokemon Company has released a single image, which you can see above, featuring a scary Banette. Those who are really into it can also apparently get a t-shirt with the print on it.
Pokemon Company Teams Up With Horror Manga Artist Junji Ito

Cool
GREAT news. What are they teaming up for, though?
My guess is to get more on the Halloween scene.
What I mean is, what are they going to do? Just illustrations, like this one, a manga, something else entirely…? I guess we’ll have to wait a bit more.
People who think Pokemon is evil are gonna use this like a weapon!
What is this? 1998?
Yeah, I don’t think it will happen again… Besides, not many people know that the creature is Banette nor that Banette is a Pokemon.
True. I hope many of my ghost-type bros get some of that Ito love.
Th-this is my hole! IT WAS MADE FOR ME!
drr DRR DRR!
wow…
This could be amazing. Pokédex entries describe terrible things that Pokémon would never be allowed to do in the media most closely related to the franchise. The kind of thing that’s tame for Junji Ito. It will be amazing.

Wow, my favorite horror manga artist and favorite game teaming up! This is absolutely amazing.
Never would’ve thought this collaboration would happen… looks really cool! I heard he will be making 4koma comics, which I can’t wait to see.
