The Link amiibo is the most popular of Nintendo’s interactive figurines in North America, Japan and Europe. In Australia, however, Mario is the most popular figure. In North America, the second best-selling amiibo is Mario, followed by Pikachu, Kirby, Samus, Yoshi, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Peach and Luigi – in that particular order. Link, who was part of the first wave of amiibo, is compatible with a number of games, including Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors.

What’s the least popular amiibo?
Hmmm, Wii Fit Trainer?
Zelda U hype confirmed…
Campbell documented how Australia is herophobic for historical reasons, they don’t like heroes too much over there
Haha, what?? Herophobic?
England used to recruit australians for war like “who wants to be a hero?” and then just used them like garbage, so a “hero” is just a gullible person for australians
Are you Australian Rafael? I only ask because I am, and I’d have to disagree with you on your statement that “a hero is just a gullible person for Australians”. It may have been so during those early recruitment times but now hero’s are much more acceptable/popular, super hero’s for instance, and for lack of a better word, or example…sporting “Hero’s”.
No, I’m quoting from Campbell’s work, “The Hero with a Thousand Faces”
While it’s old and I can understand you saying that this already changed, I don’t think it just disappeared, it would take a lot of time for that to happen
Gee, I wonder why the more common Amiibo are the most popular…
Ikr, I was thinking this whole time “YOU WANNA KNOW WHY PIKACHU AND MARIO ARE THE MOST POPULAR AMIIBOS HERE???” Because they are literally the ONLY amiibo EB Games Australia ever stocks -_-
well maybe other amiibo would have a shot if they restocked them?
Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
They’re the least popular amiibo because they’re the ones still on the shelves…
#irony #hateAmiiboHunting
Nope.
they’re the least popular amiibos because they’re the ones still one the shelves…
#irony lol
I know where to snag one adult Link and one Toon Link, I might grab the extra Toon Link cuase I feel he may be a harder one to find. Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Peach are 9.98 now where I work. So I’d guess those might be on the way out.
who doesn’t love link.
Samus! :p
Apparently Canada and the Us have an amiibo called Lugi.
And Japan has Pitt lol
Not very interesting that the most common figures, are the most popular…. it seems obvious.
Go DK for being #8!
This really isn’t a fair competition of popularity seeing that some amiibos are exclusive to some stores while others i can find at my local Goodwill.
I haven’t seen any new waves in stores at all.

Well, maybe he’s the most popular since he’s the most freaking common!
This is crap, because Link was Sold out everywhere in Aus until last week, when a small amount were re-stocked. People were ordering them from overseas. Plus, the amiibo which are most popular are thos which had the most stock made…go figure.
You want the adult link or toon link?
Let me guess, ganondorf is their favorite.
Well seeing as link is 1 of 5 mass production amiibo it makes sense hes on the top. Most stores ONLY have link amiibo.
Wow, Kirby is higher than Mario in Japan. Interesting.
Mario is not as popular in Japan compared to some of Nintendo’s more fluffy cute characters like Pikachu and Kirby, so it’s not really surprising.
Ironically, despite that comment, Pikachu is below Marth of all people in Japan. Who would have thunk that?
I just want Dark Pit and Duck Hunt and I’m done with this Amiibo shit. I’d buy more Amiibos but they are a pain in the ass to find and honestly the novelty has worn off for me. Link is one of the worst Amiibos. The downward body positioning, the piss colored yellow stand and the feminine looking face on Link ruin it. Toon Link is a way better Amiibo. Funny the picture up top isn’t even the right Link Amiibo, it’s the prototype one.
Most popular, or most purchased? If Nintendo had made the same amount of Ike, Marth, Villager, Meta Knight, or Shulk Amiibos as they did the Link Amiibo, I’m pretty sure Link wouldn’t be at the top of the list.
Very good and true point, Danntheman1776.

Sicker, please fix this title. The reason Mario is so popular in Australia is due to the fact that only Mario and Picachu have received additional top ups of stock. All others, Link included, are not restocked once sold out making the graph in accurate on actual data as we cannot confirm true popularity as Link has not been available since around the first week or so.
The us shouldn’t even be on here seeing that amiibo like Marth and captain falcon didn’t have as big a run as everything else on the list, of course the most common ones are gonna be the most popular
I think everyone agrees this statement is bs. The other figures could sell more if they had more than one run. I mean they don’t even put the uncommon ones on the shelf at the target I go to since they sell through so quick.
I’ve actually never cared for the Link amiibo, simply because of the stupid pose he’s in (much like Luigi’s stupid “plank” pose). Should have been the Skyward Sword pose, with his sword in the air. However, the Toon Link amiibo is adorable and AWESOME!

From what Iv been seeing Luigi isn’t selling well at all. I can find several Luigi, one toon link, one adult, two Diddy Kong, and a couple of Bowser’s.
Reblogged this on Too Geek To Function.
*snicker* Most popular, my ass!
